Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

Synopsis for Repo:

Spoiler:
A case involving the murder of a state trooper's son puts the team on the trail of fugitive Eduardo "El Lobo" Lopez (Robert LaSardo), whom they discover is on the lookout for a couple who are believed to be holding something he is desperate to regain.

The Pilot last week was definitely disappointing for a Bruckheimer procedural and predictable as hell. I saw most of the comments were negative, but I figure this is worth another look mainly for Kelli Giddish and Cole Hauser.

Re: Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

Very little love for this show

It's not terrible

The villan in the second episode was the same villan as the first episode of Wanted, the 2005 show also about fugitive hunters but much more hardcore.

Re: Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

Just watched online tonight.....

I felt like it was the same show as last week......a criminal going around killing people the whole show and the game of having to find him before he can kill more people. May give it one more chance next week. If not much changes, there will be one less show for me to worry about each week.

With as critical everyone is here about TV shows I'm shocked no one mentioned that they used 2 completely different model years of the Mustang during the opening chase/crash scene for this weeks ep. It was really obvious too. Must be the fact that only 3 or so people watch it.

Ditto i will give it one more go

Also the cast seems to be rejects from other shows and doesn't seem to have much personality

Re: Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

I caught episode 2 tonight and I liked it a little more then the Pilot.

First of all, they cast a much more mennacing actor to play the villain, Robert LaSardo, who some of you probably remember as Escobar Gallardo from Nip/Tuck. The guy is an absolute circus freak.

I also really like Kelli Giddish as Annie Frost. For some reason I find her really hot for a plain jane actress. IMO, she does a great job making the character credible.

Again, 2nd straight episode that Annie was listening to music the fugitive listens to on her Ipod while doing her work. In this episode she was listening to Tejano music. WTF? That made no sense.

I got plenty of space on the DVR, so I'll continue to waste an hour on this every week.

Re: Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

Are any of you still watching this?

I've seen all the episodes so far (all 3 of them) and honestly I don't think it's that bad. The Pilot was really mediocre at best, but the last 2 episodes have been better and the villains have gotten alot more interesting. I thought the last episode with Robert Knepper was probably the most entertaining of the 3. Granted, the Plots are really predictable, but I think Kelli Giddish is not a bad lead and I like the location shoots in Houston and parts of Texas. The score is pretty up tempo and gets you into the manhunt sequences.

Tonight's episode "Paranoia" features a known guest star formerly from another Monday show

Spoiler:
After a brutal murder, fugitive Faith Maples (guest star Jennifer Morrison, House) takes her young daughter with her on a harrowing killing spree across Texas. The case becomes more complicated when the suspect's mental state comes into question and Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) and the U.S. Marshals uncover a shocking twist in the case.

I'm still watching (I just couldn't find the thread last week).

I (for some reason) enjoy the show. It's not my usual type of show, but there's something to this that I dig. I'll keep watching unless I get pressed for time.

Re: Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

It's not bad but not good enough to hang in there IMHO.

Monday nights are loaded and this will not survive. They may move it to another night but it may not last after a move either.

I think the 2 main characters are fine (Giddish and Hauser) but other than that it is kinda meh. The out of control Giddish character is new for a female part (usually its the guy) but it is already boring to me.

We'll see what happens but this will probably be a 1 and done deal.

Oh and Robert Knepper seriously makes a great bad guy. I am surprised he has not been give a major movie role as the sole bad guy yet. He just has a way of being devious, creepy, and evil. IMHO he was the star of Prison Break (although I thought Wentworth did a fine job in that show as well).

If I remember correctly, he's the main bad guy in Transporter 3.

I really want to watch the show because I think the lead is hot but I just couldn't get through the pilot. I guess I'll catcher her in something else soon.

For what it's worth, as I mentioned above episodes 2 and 3 are much better than the Pilot. Kelli Giddish is pretty good and reminds me alot of Annie Wersching from 24. I too thought the Pilot was very mediocre at best.

Correct but unfortunately I cannot classify Transporter 3 as a MAJOR motion picture. Even as much as I like Jason Statham and the Transporter films #3 was crap.

To me this show should have been serialized, something like a more grounded 24 with a badass female lead.

According to Deadline.com, Chase is expected to get a full season pickup. Very surprising, but I'm grown to like it, especially Kelli Giddish.

Shockingly, Chase got a full season order today. I know this is a procedural and most of you here are pretty ho-hum on procedurals, but the show has improved since the Pilot.

Re: Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

It's not a bad show but it needs to improve and they need to bring in even more character development. We need to care about the characters a little more IMHO.

I will keep it going on the DVR for now though.

Re: Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

I actually enjoyed this last episode (with the statuatory rape guy murderer)

for the most part the show hasn't been exciting or fun to watch or anything, but not completely terrible

and Texas doesn't have anything called the DMV, ...it's DPS just sayin

Caught this show for the first time and really enjoyed it (other than the silly "cliffhanger" ending). Looks like the cast has some nice chemistry. The lead reminds me of Chelsea Handler.

Re: Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

Not really a cliffhanger. They have hinted in several episodes that her father is a criminal & one of the reasons she became a marshal. Sounds like he's a fugitive, so that was new info to her background. I figure if the show goes long enough, the team will end up going after him.

Sorry, I meant the literal cliffhanger - where the criminal woman jumped off the cliff and the marshals pulled her up.

Re: Chase -- The 1st season thread -- Monday's on NBC

Another decent episode last night. The problem with this show is too much of the same thing week after week. I still like the show and will stick with it as long as it is on the air each week.
