I hate that this is opposite BBT now. My loyalties are split, but they mostly go with Community. BBT is amusing, but Community hit the sort of stride great comedies hit in seasons 3 and 4 with a few of its latter season 1 episodes. It could be a legendary comedy if it gets the ratings to stick around.

Really nice job on this thread Scott.
Looking forward to season 2, although the night overall is a cluster fuck. The 8pm timeslot is brutal though especially against Bones and TBBT.

I'm still surprised at how good of a show this transitioned into last season. Looking forward to tonight's season premiere.

Luckily, this is the only show I have on at 8:00; can't stand The Big Bang Theory and stopped watching Bones a while ago.

This show went from boring to one of the best shows on TV for me over the course of its first season, can't wait for S2. HATE the time slot, though.

There's also going to be a "live Twittersode" starting at 7pm EDT.
The second season of Community premieres tonight—Thursday, September 23rd 8/7c, to be exact—but first it will be testing its luck with a Twitter experiment that it’s calling a “Twittersode”. Using faux Twitter feeds for the show’s characters, a scene will be acted out consisting of 80 tweets in all. Learn more after the break.
Variety reports that the scene will debut at 7 p.m. EDT, an hour prior to the airing of the premiere. You can follow the experiment at http://www.NBC.com/CommunityTwittersode.
Normally I’d be wary of publicity stunts like this, but I’m confident that there’s some actual creative impetus behind this experiment. The twitter feeds for these characters have existed for a couple of months now, and it’s obvious that a little more thought has been put into them than what you would expect to see from a marketing department. For example, there’s a profile called Old White Man Says ( @oldwhitemansays)—playing on the popular Twitter account Shit My Dad Says—set from the point of view of the roommate of Chevy Chase’s character Pierce, though he’s not mentioned by name. The bio: “I’m roommates with an old white dude. He’s grumpy and racist. I just write down shit that he says.” Hell, there’s even a profile for Annie’s Boobs ( @anniesb00bs), Donald Glover’s character’s not-so-aptly named monkey.
For a show like Community, this feels like a natural progression of its meta, pop culture-infused stylings. A Greendale Community College website is one thing, but having the characters of the show actively engaging over Twitter is another entirely. I’m curious to see how successful the experiment ends up being, which I suppose will depend largely on whether the idea ends up being reduced to a series of one-liners, or if they aim to offer up some genuine interaction between the characters to lead into the premiere. If the episode itself were to kick off with a Twitter gag, that would be surreal. But unless they’ve been planning this for quite some time, that’s fairly unlikely.

I really don't understand Twitter, but after checking the link it looks like they're going to compile the relevant ones on the website so I'll check it out.

I have tons of disposable income and they are missing the boat if they think that twitter appeals to me and my friends. In fact - I don't know one person who uses this in my personal or work life.

Been rewatching my way through the AWESOME Season 1 DVD set and can't wait for new stuff! Got to meet everybody from the cast at Comic Con this year and they're all so nice it's stupid. This is easily my favorite show on TV.

I could follow what was going on and what they were saying though, some pretty funny stuff. Interesting that Britta was M.I.A.
I like that the last thing Abed said was "Going to bed early so it’ll be like the new season is starting RIGHT AWAY!" And the show started with him waking up.
Cool that they incorporated Troy's oldwhitemansays Twitter into the episode.

@ means they are talking to that person.
# is a hashtag, advertising for NBCCommunity in this case.
For example, if I wanted to talk to Troy's monkey, I'd say "@Anniesb00bs Want a banana? "

Thanks. I figured the @ was directed at a specific person, but there were just a lot of links and I had a wtf moment. Is a hashtag then just something related to whatever your posting about?

Jeff: "I'd be put on one of those websites people check when buying a house."
lol @ Chang's bank account balance.
Jeff and Britta's kiss was just awful. And the look on Annie's face was priceless.
---
I loved Annie and Shirley screaming for different reasons.
Shirley revealing to the gang that Jeff and Britta had sex on the study table and everyone freaking out was awesome. Then Annie running and punching Jeff right in the nose. Everything that went down in that scene was just so fast-pasted, well timed, and brilliantly executed. So many great one-liners and jokes.
Troy: "Was there anything you didn't win that day?!"
Abed: "A wedding, episode!"
Pierce: "Wait! I'm oldwhitemansays?! No wonder he knows what I'm thinking!" I really expected Troy to pull out his phone and Tweet that too.
---
Jeff: "The most important tool is respect."
Chang: "GAAAAAAY!"
Jeff: "...and that's a fact."
Chang: "A gay fact."
Pierce throwing urine in Jeff's face, haha.
Nice dig at the Shit My Dad Says Twitter, Book, and Television Show being a cash-in.
Chang: "Is there any room in this pocket for a spare Chang?" What an awful, awful pun.
Wtf @ Chang at the end.

Glad this is back! Glover in the spiderman suit at the beginning was great! Annie's faces were priceless.
The end with Chang was awesome! Glad this show didnt lose any of its consistency.
