By djariya at 2010-09-19
Synopsis:
Spoiler:
Starring:
Kelli Giddish (Past Life)
Cole Hauser (K-Ville, Tears of the Sun)
Amaury Nolasco (Prison Break)
Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives)
Producer is Jerry Bruckheimer

I like a good action procedural, and I will record this, but this is 100% guaranteed to finish 3rd place at 10pm.

There's so many new shows premiering tonight and I won't even be able to watch them live it seems. Will definitely have a backlog of stuff to watch on Hulu every weekend. This looks decent, I'll give it a shot.

The lead actress looks like a blonde Annie Wersching (24). Let's see who's more badass. Can't wait!

So many new things but Im in for this as I would like to see Hauser get a hit... My DVR will at least have plenty of stuff for me to watch on the weekends.

Agree about Hauser considering his last network show K-Ville was garbage.
On a side note, I'm not sure if I can take John the gardener from Desperate Housewives seriously as a U.S. Marshall.

hasn't this been on USA for a while now? ... joking...but not entirely.

dropped the show about 20 minutes in.
After watching "Manhunters" on A&E (US Marshals reality show), this fictional drama lacks any suspense. Everytime an action scene occurred, my mind kept reminding me that this is fiction, while Manhunters brings the real deal.
real thugs, real Marshals, real danger.
If you haven't seen Manhunters, I recommend that reality show over this show. It's on hiatus now, but A&E has some full episodes online.

Re: Chase -- New Series -- "Pilot" -- 09/20/10
Show was sort of lame.. I like the cast and I really hope it was just a case of a chunky pilot ep and the show will get better as it goes along..
I'll give it another shot or two being I have the DVR space to stack up a ton of shows so one more is no big deal.
but it was mostly a whole lot of talking and a VERY predictable story line and chase.. Only thing even sort of interesting was the leap into the water but they showed that in the previews already. Come on, if your show is going to be based on and titled "Chase" make it something different than bad guy goes after his "are you my daddy?" kid, shaves is head down and tries to walk into Mexico..
really? That's the best -launch- story line they could come up with for a show about chasing bad guys down?!? sigh...

What a boring, by the numbers procedural. I made it about halfway before turning it off. I almost axed it at the line, "At work you get to use guns. At home you gotta...talk."

Agreed that this was pretty lame. I didn't have very high expectations, but still. I don't think I'll be back.

That's who I thought it was during all the promos the past few weeks. I was thinking "she looks better as a blonde." I only recently found out it was a different actress. I recorded the show but haven't watched it yet. I wanted to check here to see if it was worthwhile first. Sounds like maybe not.

So I'm about 10 minutes in and I'm getting a strong "procedural" feel and comments here seem to confirm that. A procedural has to be very strong (Bones, House) for me to waste my time and this is feeling like a waste of time.

I liked it, but I also got a "procedural" feel from this show. If it's catch a new criminal every week, I'm probably out. I'm going to need something more.

It was okay...I would give this between a B- and C+
Pros:
Kelli Giddish: A pretty good performance as Annie Frost and she has a good onscreen presence. She definitely reminds me of a blonde Annie Wersching...especially the cheek bones. If Annie Wersching wasn't pregnant at the time this Pilot was shot, I have to assume she would have been a strong candidate for the lead of this show.
Cole Hauser: I also thought he was solid as the co-lead alongside Annie.
The Opening Sequence: The show is called Chase and I thought that was a good way to start off the show. Very well directed sequence.
The Up Tempo Score.
That is was shot on location in Houston
Cons:
Plot was predictable as hell. It was totally by the numbers.
Travis Fimmel: Awful villain and I wanted to punch him every time I saw that smug look on his face.
Some really corny dialogue. That line that Eric D mentioned was pretty bad.
When Annie was listening to the Ipod and using the country music that Mason likes to analyze what his next moves would be.....Really?
I'm a fan of Bruckheimer's procedurals, so I'm willing to give this more time to develop. It was a pretty disappointing Pilot compared to how awesome Hawaii Five-O was.
It didn't suck, but it wasn't great either.

I wanted to like it but it lacked anything special
I much prefer the show "Wanted' cancelled one season in 2005, that was a great fugitive chasing show
