The Executive Producer and Showrunner for this show is Evan Katz, who worked on 24. James Wong, who worked on Final Destination, Millenium and X-Files, is a writer/producer on the show.

Probably the most talked about and promoted show on NBC all Summer long. I've read alot of good reviews about the Pilot, so let the ride begin. I need another good serialized action show now that 24 is gone.

Caught the pilot at Comic Con and thought it was fun. Looking forward to see where it goes. The action moments definitely had a 24 feel to them IMO.

(Also the ad they've been running featuring people commenting on Twitter features two of my wife's comments. Which has been hilarious. )

I'll wait to catch this on DVD if it survives. I'm not going to invest time in a mythology show that might not last long enough to finish its story arc.

Do you reckon this will be better than Flash Forward?

Competition wise, it's going against Two and a Half Men/Mike and Molly on CBS, Lone Star on FOX, & Dancing with the Stars on ABC. Gossip Girl is a non-factor.

Based off that alone, I can see it finishing like this in the timeslot

1) Dancing with the Stars
2) Two and a Half Men/Mike and Molly
3) The Event
4) Lone Star

That answer is so abstract and cryptic. A simple yes or no would have done.

I hope so. FF also had a pilot that got people excited and then the show sucked after that. Hopefully it's not the same with the Event.

I wasn't intending to be cryptic to you. I was talking about how the show will do ratings-wise against the competition. Creatively, who knows? Serialized shows are hit or miss, but it seems like this has gotten alot of positive buzz.

FlashForward had alot of creative problems behind the scenes. They actually switched showrunners 3 times during the season and after a big premiere in the ratings, it dropped significantly and the long hiatus until March was the nail in the coffin.

They got something right hiring Evan Katz as showrunner. He was an Executive Producer and Writer on 24 for 5 seasons and also worked on Jag. He's a solid TV veteran in the action genre.

I'm in for this. The promos bring up 'Lost' as though it's along those lines and I loved me some Lost.

This is what I keep wondering... Going to give it a shot however.

I just want to know what the damn "event" actually is. I read a rumor that it involves

but I'm not sure how credible the rumor is.

That's sort of what I figured it was as well. Obviously some sort of cover-up and there's only so many things the government can cover-up that would really have a global impact.

I want to watch this but have a late class so will have to catch it on Hulu, but I'm definitely going to check it out. I'll give Lone Star a shot as well.

I really hate the hamfisted advertising for this series, it looks like some odd, overly serious Lost / The Forgotten hybrid. Can't help but think it has to do with .

I'll be checking this out as well. I can see it go both ways -- either as a big hit or a giant misfire with a quiet death.

I saw the preview last night and one critic review said something like Lost meet 24hrs.

Yeah I can see it either way as well, but I'll check it out tonight to see how I feel about it.
