FYI: The spoiler in the OP is very detailed and goes beyond the usual "Sam gets into a situation with his new family"-type plot descriptions.

Not exactly True Blood related, but I am currently watching the Blu-Ray of Generation Kill. While I know not everyone will be Team Eric, I don't think anyone could watch this and not get a good deal of respect for Alexander Skarsgard as an actor. I think he has the potential to be a major star if he makes the right choices and stays away from stupid stuff like movies based on board games.

Incredible ep. overall, even if it did run short. A lot happened tonight, no denying it. I'm guessing what Russell did would be the mafia equivalent of whacking an FBI agent or important member of a powerful family.

Once again I think this show filled its gore quotient for the year. The post-mortem tribute to Bill and Lorenna was cool, but somewhat cheesy. RIP Lorenna, you will be missed, to an extent.

If you been watching the episodes (especially last weeks) then the information about the episode wouldnt be a spoiler.

What a fucking episode tonight! I was surprised at how many people were killed off tonight! And I think by now it should be obvious why the queen is interested in Sookie.

Glad that Claudine was finally introduced as well! My only complaint this episode was how short this episode was. After more people have watched this and posted, Ill post more

I'm gonna miss Lorena. Eventhough I knew she was gonna die from reading the books, I've been enjoying her character and was hoping she would last closer to the end of the season.

I'm also glad Hadley has been getting more time as well.

Okay, what exactly is it about

Spoiler:
Sookie being a faerie (I know that much) that gets vamps so interested in her?

Spoiler:
I'm guessing the more fairy blood that is consumed, the longer a vampire can live in sunlight. Notice how after Bill got out of the truck he didnt burn right away, he was fine for a few minutes then slowly began to smoke.

So I'm guessing
Spoiler:
that was Bill's initial interest in Sookie, but he authentically fell in love. I'm guessing when he stood in the sunlight that was confirmation for him that a lot of fairy blood could work. I'm guessing that is also why the queen and Eric will now be interested as well.

While I knew she was going to get saved, I was somewhat surprised that we didn't see the Magister pierce Pam's eyes first. It was just that kind of no holds barred ep. While she wasn't given much, it was obvious from her attitude that the Magister had been torturing her pretty much non-stop since Eric left. Seemed she was going to be defiant to the end, and that was very good acting from Ms. Von Stratten. I also liked how they threw in Eric asking her if she was okay. Showed that he authentically cared for her well being.

Exactly. Bill was sent by the queen, who probably learned about Sookie from Hadley.

Funny scenes with Jason in this episode. Particularly, Jason 'sweeping' in the jail cell and approaching Lafayette in the kitchen.

He does. He said something earlier about the only Vamp you can trust is the one that made you. That and his reaction to Godric last season indicates that there is a very strong maker/sire relationship in the True Blood universe.

Don't really see the same relationship with Bill and Jessica though which is strange.

Well, Bill and his own sire aren't exactly the model relationship either. Maybe that impacts his other relationships.

The major flaw with this episode was not enough Jessica. She and Hoyt(?) were the best part of last season. Then again, I would be happy with an entire episode of her just doing her nails. She's perfect.

Not ANY Jessica. How do they allow that to happen?

Of course Jason got to taste Hoyt's new girls biscuits before Hoyt did. That scene was perfectly played between Jason and Hoyt.

I thought that worked really well, with Jason swooping in to eat her biscuits before Hoyt. If they didn't have Jason so hung up on Crystal Meth I would think he was going to snatch her away from Hoyt.

Re: True Blood -- "Hitting the Ground" -- 08/01/10

They write some great lines for Jason. "I never really thought I was smart enough to get depressed"

BTW, it takes time for the relationship between maker and sire to develop. They have to get over the initial resentment and anger toward being turned. Bill was tricked into becoming a vampire, and Jessica was kidnapped and forced. Not exactly the best ways to build a strong relationship.

The show has really delivered the last few weeks. Another great episode tonight.

OK, so if you submitted this episode to the MPAA as a feature do you think it would get an R or an NC-17?

This one? Possibly an R. However, I would say there have been some eps. in the past that would definitely fall under NC-17.

I honestly feel that this season has really trumped the first two in major ways. Characters seem more defined, and we are actually getting more of an idea as to how big of a mythology there is in this alternate reality they inhabit. Furthermore, Russell is the most interesting villain this series has had thus far. Drew was dull, and MaryAnn was not much of an improvement. Maybe it's because Russell reminds me of the Big Bads from the Buffy series; you just can't get enough of hating him.

Here's a comic-con interview with Kristin Bauer and Joe Manganiello. Gotta love Joe's quick riff on Twilight.

Absolutely.

I think the first season was from barely watchable to good. The second season was barely watchable. Too good that I didn't watch live, I watched both seasons back to back in blu-ray and then online.

But this season has been great. Russell is really interesting, I love him! I will cry when he dies.

Good episode except for Sookie's coma-vision magic dreamland of light.
What the hell kinda of cheesy shit was that!?

Too bad she's the main character - she's the one I like to get rid of the most. Even Bill is a good character this year.

It's funny because I think Anna Paquin does a very good job with the character, but I kinda feel that Sookie is an almost completely unlikeable person.
