You know, I think I'm in the minority here, but so far this season hasn't done it for me. I don't know exactly what the problem is, but things just aren't coming together for me...yet. The episodes have felt disjointed, with way too many different storylines to cover and not enough time to devote to any of them. Sure there have been the cool moments like the sex scene, but I really hope the storytelling comes together soon.

Re: True Blood -- "Trouble" -- 07/18/10

^ I actually feel the opposite. I didn't find the first season intriguing at all until towards the end, and last year was kind of split. The stuff in Texas with the FOTS was good, as was anything with Jason and Andy. However, the Maryann storyline blew for the most part. This season's characters are more intriguing and I sense they are setting up a bigger picture.

I actually admire the fact that this series is trying to broaden its horizons and expand the universe in which it takes place by adding more people and creatures.

You're not in the minority. This season is EASILY less focused and more "all over the place" than last season, and Season 1. It's probably going to play better once we've seen all the episodes and know all the new characters better and go back and watch it a second time. But this season really seems to be following the "more is more" mentality, and it's not working that well.

FWIW, there was a post-morterm interview with Stephen Moyer in which he joked that with the amount of cast member chairs this season, one would think they were making "Ben-Hur." I'll continue to watch, but if it gets to the point where we have an ep. where hardly anyone from the original line-up makes an appearance, I would say it's gotten out of hand.

All I can say is, Jason Stackhouse with his shirt off, washing the police car, with those tight white pants....um, yeah, does it for me. I need some complete Jason Stackhouse nudity, and I mean the whole "package"! Yeah, I'm a pervert. I admit it!

Franklin is growing on me.

Can't wait to see the vampire king get his at the end. Hopefully, it won't take all season.

The Disaster Network: Nature is a Bitch!

I have to say, this ep. really brought the laughs if nothing else. Personally, I feel everything just got kicked into high gear. I'm actually wishing I had this as a complete DVD set so I could jump to the next ep. immediately.

I have to say the style of the flashback scene with Eric was well done stylistically; I hope that's how Game of Thrones looks.

My guess is that Eric will use the Vampire King to help him with is purposes and then try to wack him. I think we're in for a lot of double crossing and plotting.

How did the king get into Alicide's house without being invited? Or could one of the other wolves invite him in, even though it wasn't their house? I guess Tara was able to invite a vampire into Sookie's house.

Not enough Anna Paquin's cleavage.

I like the way this season is going. Sookie's doing her thing with the werewolf, Tara's off on her own, Sam is dealing with his family, Jason is messing with whatever Crystal is, Bill and Eric and playing politics, and Lafayette is getting a little sumthin sumthin.

Cooter went in first, then invited the vamps in.

I'm loving it. I actually think the Jason storyline is currently the weakest. Franklin going nuts was absolutely hysterical. He is tearing up that screen.

There is so much going on, but I get the sense of disjointment others are seeing. I like all the variety, and I really enjoy the sense they are building to something. I can't wait to see where it's going.

Re: True Blood -- "Trouble" -- 07/18/10

Minority...Majority...whatever. It's working just fine for me. I'm really enjoying the variety on display this season and delighted to see Alan Ball broaden the horizon a bit. Disjointed...scattered, call it how you see it, only I'm NOT seeing it. I'm absolutely loving this season and have no issue with the various storylines. Many of which all seem to be coalescing nicely IMO. I'm already much more engaged in what's occurring than I was for the majority of season 2. James Frain as Franklin is flat out awesome.

Tara, "We need to talk."

Franklin, "Don't say that. Women say that, everything goes black and I wake up surrounded by body parts."

Franklin = best new character. I could be entertained the whole hour just watching him go nuts over Tara.

I think that was the funniest line in the episode.

The scenes w/ Jason in the office and then when he went chasing after Crystal w/ that old school music had me

Stellar episode. Hilarious stuff. Love Franklin. This season is really starting to come together for me. And maybe, for the first time ever, I actually kinda like Bill.

I cant believe that "Jason Stackhouse" is still a trending topic on twitter since last night, and is currently the second trending topic!

Re: True Blood -- "Trouble" -- 07/18/10

This episode was a step in the right direction. Lots of humor, some consolidation in the storylines that made everything work much better. Eric's backstory was great, and then we get another look at Sookie's powers. This episode just felt tight and well structured. Sam's stuff is still pretty weak, but tolerable.

Best episode of the season so far, and hopefully a sign of how things will go the rest of the way.
