Crying was awesome. "You were touched."

Did the episode cut off early for anyone else? There was lime 5 minutes of that fat kid cartoon on at the start of my recording.

Just about everything on MTV cuts off early. The show behind this one cuts off early too.

watched it, funny as I remember it. I am glad to see they did not have many music videos in there. Call me odd but I like it when it was just them. Wonder if they are going to bring back vicker?

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV

Beavis and Butt-Head was never my favorite show back in the day but I tuned in for this. I thought it was pretty funny but it didn't really change my opinion of the show much. I might tune in from time to time to watch it but it's not exactly the type of show I'll go out of my way each week to watch.

And one is about people who have no talent what-so-ever, and are vulgar and scum.

I know some people will compare B&B and Family Guy to the likes of SouthPark. But the humor in the first 2 is actually funny, even though it's toilet humor. Whereas shows like SouthPark and Jersey are just complete vulgarities. Why people would even watch crap like that is beyond me. I fear for America.
No offense but Beavis and Butt-Head and Family Guy don't even belong in the same sentence as South Park. Let alone trying to compare it to Jersey Shore that's just fucking ridiculous. South Park is a brilliant satire and while it can have it's vulgar episodes now and again it's a great show.

QFT. Anyone who defines South Park by its vulgarity is missing the point.

^^
I'm sorry, B&B and Family Guy are far more hilarious than South Park. They aren't aiming for social relevance, just belly laughs.

South Park, at best has one to two brilliant episodes a season (except this currently subpar season), and the rest are episodes that are one single joke repeated for 22 minutes.

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV

I think Family Guy and Beavis and Butt-Head have their place but South Park is really a more clever show. The writing is usually better and they don't beat the same jokes into the ground (for example Peter's constant flashbacks or constant reliance on pop culture jokes). I get that some people just want to laugh but I guess I appreciate that South Park is more a show that you have to think about the jokes a bit and they don't just make everything overly obvious and stupid. For me personally I'd say Judge did a better show with King of the Hill than Beavis and Butt-Head. Also how exactly is South Park just a single joke repeated for twenty two minutes? The show actually follows a story. Some of the stories are ridiculous and over the top but they do have actual stories. Unlike Beavis and Butt-Head or Family guy that usually just strings together twenty two minutes of random shit that sometimes sorta relates back to a plot point.

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV

I loved loved B & B back in the day and thought this was great, except the DVR didn't get the last five minutes. I haven't watched MTV since the 90's so didn't realize they do their shows like that.

BTW, South Park is also pretty great, Family Guy was always hit and miss for me but now it's all miss.

I was pleased to see the proto-Hank Hill make an appearance. Fingers crossed someday King of the Hill also comes back.

They should just have have Hank come into town and meet Tom.

Or just have Hank in Tom's place one episode randomly.

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV

Mike Judge really hasn't missed a beat here. Family Guy and Futurama both changed after they came back from their layoffs. Beavis And Butt-Head really haven't. The quality of the animation has improved, but that's about it.

Loved the psychic segment. "she couldn't see he wasn't going to be there. She's a terrible psychic. Everything she's said is a lie!"

As to comparisons to South Park. Matt and Trey have cited B&B as being a influence on them, alongside The Simpsons. You look at any animated comedy show of the last 15 years and you can see The Simpsons and B&B in their lineage. That's not to say the older shows are better, but they paved the way for Family Guys and South Parks and everything else.

Without Beavis and Butt-Head, there is no South Park. But Matt and Trey took the baton and developed a more complete show than B&B ever was or will be. I don't think Judge ever had the intention of doing that with B&B, especially after the controversy from the early episodes.

I think both shows hit their target, they're just aiming at different targets.

Re: Beavis And Butt-Head to return to MTV

After two eps this has moved to #1 on my list of animated shows.

"I saw you were going to order chicken wings and know I see I'm going to eat them". (paraphrased)

I had to pause the recording after that line I was laughing so hard.

I want this to run for one or two seasons tops then go away for 6-8 years for another comeback. It's so amazing.

I can't express how happy I am that this show is back in full force. This show was a big part of my HS days and I love it!

I have to say the Tech Support episode made me laugh as I work in a call center (not for tech support but a billing department).

Yeah, this show's been a trip down memory lane. Enjoyed the second episode a little more than the first.
