Re: Flashpoint -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 06/04/10 on CBS
^^ I didn't know that was a brand new unseen episode in both the U.S. and Canada. All I knew was the first 9 episodes were leftovers from season 2 and CBS/CTV produced 13 new episodes in addition.
Some bad news to report. Apparently CBS is only airing 4 of the 13 newly produced episodes this summer. The season finale for CBS's version of season 3 is August 20th. The remaining episodes will still be seen on CTV in Canada. CBS hasn't decided when or if they will show the last 9 episodes.
I also read that Flashpoint was renewed for season 4 in Canada only. Those will air after season 3 finishes in Canada.

Tonight's episode was pretty good. Kind of a dark plot with the white supremicist terrorist group, but in the usual tradition of this show it was once again a misunderstood person.
I loved the opening sequence with the SRU team in a shootout with the white supremicists. Usually you always see the team are geared up carrying heavy weapons and artilery, but they never fire their weapons. So it was cool to see an actual shootout.
Even though CBS didn't advertise it as such, next week is the summer finale. There are still 9 more episodes left that will hopefully air in 2011.

It has been simulcasted in the U.S. on CBS. That's how I watch the show on CBS Friday nights. However, next week (episode 13) is the final scheduled CBS airing. Episodes 14-22 will be shown in Canada this Fall. CBS has not decided on airing them yet. CTV also already ordered a season 4 without CBS being involved, which will air next year.

Re: Flashpoint -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 06/04/10 on CBS
CBS and the Canadian station has screwed up the numbering of the episodes. This is actually the end of Season 2 that is airing.
In December 2008, only nine of the 13 episodes produced during the series' first season had been aired in North America, although all 13 episodes had been aired by New Zealand's TVNZ (TV2) as of December 10, 2008. In North America, the four remaining episodes of Season 1 were aired in January and February 2009; in North America, CBS and CTV (initially) billed these episodes as part of Season 2, rather than as part of their intended season, Season 1, as was done in international markets.
Eighteen new 2009 episodes were ordered by CTV and CBS (the original 13 ordered by CTV on August 25, 2008 plus 5 additional episodes that were ordered on November 19, 2008). The first nine of these new episodes, combined with the four holdover episodes from 2008 were aired as Season 2 in North America. The remaining nine episodes, although originally filmed for Season 2, were aired as "Season 3" beginning September 25, 2009 in Canada (CTV), however CTV later corrected their online episode guide to report the seasons as produced rather than initially aired. The correction also holds for the DVD releases of "Season 2, Volume 1" and "Season 2, Volume 2". The last nine episodes of Season 2 began airing on June 4, 2010 in the United States (CBS). CBS, however, is erroneously referring to these episodes as "Season 3". An additional 13 episodes were produced in Toronto from January to May, 2010. These will likely air in both Canada and the United States in 2011.

Re: Flashpoint -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 06/04/10 on CBS
^^ Exactly, CBS basically created their own seasons of Flashpoint, which don't match Canada's episode order schedule.
12 episodes have aired so far this summer here in the U.S. The 1st 9 episodes are leftovers from season 2, which Canadians already saw last Fall/Winter and only 4 are actually from "season 3." There are still 9 more left that will apparently air in Canada regardless. CBS is referring to these 13 episodes as "Season 3." I don't know what episodes 14-22 will be referred as when and if they air.
This is really confusing.

Season 2 = Eps 5 of "Season 2" - the episode on August 20th "Whatever it Takes" for a total of 18 episodes.
Season 1 = 1st 13 eps of Season 1 + 1st 4 of "season 2" for a total of 17 episodes.

This is how it aired in the United States:
Season 1= 9 episodes aired (Scorpio to Planets Aligned)
Season 2= 13 episodes aired (Eagle 2 to Exit Wounds) 4 episodes were actually from season 1.
Strangely, the DVD's that CBS released for season 1 had 13 episodes in their proper order, but the season 2 DVD had only 9 episodes.
Season 3= 13 episodes (One Wrong Move to Whatever it takes) The first 9 episodes are leftovers from season 2. Only 4 of the ordered episodes from season 3 are airing.
I checked out some Flashpoint message boards and alot of U.S. and Canadian viewers are really confused by this. ^^ Thanks for the info

CBS has decided to air 7 of 13 (I think). After that who knows?
CBS--Friday, Sept. 3, 2010 -- "The Other Lane"
CBS--Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 -- "Jumping at Shadows"
CBS--Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 -- "Acceptable Risk"
The following week the new Tom Selleck show "Blue Bloods" will take the slot.
TIM
Updated to include 7th episode title

Re: Flashpoint -- Season 3 Thread -- Premieres 06/04/10 on CBS
Also watched tonight's episode "The Other Lane" which tied up an episode from a few weeks ago that involved Ed's brother. The ending was a little cliched & flimsy with Ed's brother confronting the guy who sold the weapons that killed supposedly his partner. But, overall I thought it was very well executed and there was some intense scenes with the SRU team and the gun runners.
One thing I find funny about Flashpoint is that I've never seen them involved a huge gun battle. Maybe a sniper round here and there. Not that there is anything wrong with that being that this is a network TV procedural, but I think the writer's need to step up their game and give the team a more dangerous crisis where many lives are at risk, rather than a misunderstood person who is taking out their frustration on someone.
It's not my favorite procedural, but I like Flashpoint alot and I hope CBS continues to air it, preferrably at a better timeslot and during the actual TV season where it can get more exposure.
BTW, Love the new opening credits that include Spike (Sergio DiZio) and Wordy (Michael Cram)
