Not worth it, unless you're doing a study on how not to dub in dialogue after the fact.

Original Desmond: If your bored out of your skull and have absolutely nothing to watch, then fine sit through all 22 episodes. For the most part, I think you will be entertained. But, it seems to me that you download shit like crazy and have months worth of material to watch through the Winter (since it's Winter in your parts.) Plus, there is already quite a few new scripted shows airing this summer. You also mentioned that you still have a ton of other shows you still haven't watched yet from this past TV season.

Wouldn't have stuck around if not for her so I think that should be your "A"

There are a lot of shows that lasted one season that are probably better.
Wonderfalls...
Firefly....

Wikipedia has brief summaries of all 22 episodes; some have links to a detailed synopsis.

At least she has a new show in the Fall (Perfect Couples) and is playing a straight woman. ;)

I just read that show description. Ugh. I think I've already seen every episode. I'd rather they kill off more than half the cast of Flashforward and bring that back.

That is too much digging. Can someone just give a quick summary in like 2-3 sentences on what caused the flashforward.

I think it's a little too complicated to explain in only a few sentences for it to make sense for someone like you who only watched a handful of episodes.

They never directly or plainly said or revealed who/why/what/how - that's why the show was such a rip off.

I know I'm quoting myself, but this got me thinking about how I think they could have fixed Fastforward if it had managed to get itself renewed. I think most of us would agree that the fundamental idea had some intrigue, but that the show itself got bogged down in unlikeable, unnecessary characters whose actions never made a whole lot of sense. I'll start from after the season one finale b/c I don't have a time machine.

Spoiler:

1) Nobody named Benford is around in season 2. Have the season open a few months after the second blackout. Have the returning characters mention that Shakespeare died in the explosion and that Penny and their daughter moved away with Lloyd and his son. (I could be talked into keeping Commodore Norrington if someone could come up with a way to rehabilitate/refocus his character. I just don't see how he can fixed at this point).

2) Because Penny is gone there is never any need to go back to the hospital and visit doctors with cancer or their babysitter sorta girlfriends and their Japanese mystery women or ANY of that bullshit that had nothing to do with the A plot and made this show awful.

3) The new leads are partners John Cho and Christine Woods. I think the Demitri character can be rehabilitated if he doesn't spend the entire year worrying about when he's going to die. They also had decent chemistry when they started working together at the end of the year. Let's build on that. I also think it's an interesting idea to have show with a Korean-American & a lesbian as leads. Gabrielle Union is history though. That character never worked. I'd probably 86 the pregnancy too.

4) Charlie can stay. I think in a more focused show his character had potential. You saw some of it in his interactions with Janis & Demitri in the last couple episodes. I think his staying eliminates any need for Lloyd to stay, but like I mentioned before I could be talked into that.

5) Either keep Seaman Jones as the boss or promote Barry Shabaka Henley. You need a boss. I'm good with this either way.

6) Aaron. In a show with so many characters running around doing things that seemed to have nothing to do with anything he fits right in. His storyline in season one had some decent moments (like when he raided Ganz's house), but they felt pointless. In the finale, they FINALLY tied his story into the blackout. If they keep this character focused (the daughter either has to die, go into protective custody, or somehow just not on screen...and we never mention his alcoholism again) then I'm willing to keep him. I think if you directly tie him into the the Janis/Demitri storyline where he's working outside the law then it could work. Otherwise, just get rid of him.

I thought the blackouts happened when the supercollider was used. Didn't Simon and the other Brit cause the first blackout? Weren't they working for the blond guy that Mark attacked while he had him in custody (don't recall his name) toward the end of the series? I'm more curious to know how wearing a ring kept people from blacking out.

Yes and the issue with the ring was explained with techno mumbo jumbo.

Say what you want about series but the ending explained far more than Lost's series finale.

Re: Is Flashforward as a Standalone Season worth watching ?

I watched the first two episodes and found it interesting, but haven't bothered to watch the rest of the show. Too much stuff going on, and besides I'm still trying to wrap up Season 1 of both Alias and Miami Vice.

Could somebody tell me what happens in Flashforward? All spoilers on this show are welcome, but in spoiler quotes please. Here are my questions (spoilers):

Spoiler:
Who was the guy at the ballgame who wasn't suspended? Did people's visions come true? Why did the one detective not have a vision? Was the cause of the blackouts / visions ever explained?

Short version:

Spoiler:
A group of scientists were doing an experiment with a super-collider and that caused the blackout/Flash Forward. There was a shadowy group behind the experiment, though the scientists didn't necessarily know about the shadowy group. They never explained what the motivations of the shadowy group were, though toward the end they started to establish a history for the shadowy gorup -- they had done the experiments before, and there were people associated with the shadowy group who had experienced hundreds of Flash Forwards and knew all sorts of possible futures, but none of that was ever explained.

One of the scientists was Simon Campos, played by Dominic Monaghan. He did know about the shadowy group, who forced him to go ahead with the experiment. He was the guy who didn't black out -- the shadowy group gave him a ring that prevented him from blacking out.

Demitri -- John Cho's character -- was the guy who didn't have a Flash Forward. They established pretty early that people who didn't have Flash Forwards had died by the date to which everyone was flashing. This drove his plot until about three-quarters of the way into the season when the Joseph Fiennes character saved him from the death he was supposed to experience. The series ended with a second black-out, and that made me wonder whether his lack of Flash Forward during the initial blackout was because he was at ground zero for the second black-out, but we'll never know that now.

All in all, I'd say the series is a C-, with a good premise but lousy execution until the last half-dozen or so episodes, and there were too many lingering questions when the series ended to be able to say it came to a satisfying conclusion. And I still want to know what was the deal with that kangaroo.
