This has been airing for 3 weeks now, and is pretty great.

Elba is such a great actor, he's playing a troubled detective in this, and It's now one of my favourite new shows.

Pretty amazing seeing the accent he put on in the wire and now his almost normal voice.

Sounds great and I loved Idris Elba in The Wire so I'll have to check this out.

Surprised that Elba is working in the UK again. It's only a 6 episode series.

Thanks for starting this thread BadlyDrawnBoy. I probably wouldn't have heard about this show otherwise and it is absolutely amazing. Very intense, and it looks beautiful in HD. Idris Elba does a particularly great job. Shame its only 6 episodes though hopefully it will be back for a 2nd season.

I'm up to episode 4. Its very well done and I'm enjoying it. Despite the fact that I'm completely burned out on police procedurals.

Man, this guy is a real worker.

He is a quality Actor - No question, and most bbc shows are around the 6 episode mark..
Which is good and bad - Means they can be pretty intense and have to establish a character fast.

It also means no filler episodes and generally better quality of television. Its easier to write and produce 6 strong hours than it is 22.

I have been enjoying Luther for the past four weeks as well. Very intense, but the writing and acting are great.

This will probably end up as yet another great BBC show that won't appear in the US (with BBC America now airing Star Trek: TNG every weeknight, I'm guessing current quality drama like Luther isn't even on their radar). It's a shame that I'm forced to "go online" and buy Region 1 & 2 DVDs to watch great UK shows.

Got caught up with all 4 episodes of this so I've started rewatching the original Life On Mars. Guess I'm in a British crime drama mood.

This looks great. Idris is a brilliant actor and he played Stringer Bell brilliantly on The Wire. I'll have to check this show out when it comes out on DVD.

So Ruth from MI-5 in Episode 4. She was great!! Loved that episode. Such a dark show, disturbing..

Got to Agree on Ruth Wilson. She's nut's and hot, and even more nuts. I love how she could be a great crime solver, yet she's criminally insane!

Became a fan of Elba b/c of the Wire, and I became an instant Ruth Wilson fan when she was the best thing in the Jesus/Gandalf AMC Prisoner remake last fall (she was also the best thing in the Masterpiece Theatre Small Island this Spring) so I'll definitely make it a point to check this out. Besides, six episodes isn't that much of a commitment
