The thing is that with 24, an occasional bad season or 2 doesn't ruin the good that came before or after it. With Lost, the shitty final season ruined everything that came before it, at least as far as me ever wanting to go back and watch any of it again.

I loved the finale of Lost but was mediocre on 24's final hours.

In the end though it comes down to what cdollaz basically said. A season of 24 stands on it's own. There is/was no timetable to wrap things up and the show could have gone on for a few more years.

Warts and all, I think I'll miss 24 more, even though Lost was my favorite show of the past 6 years. 24 was a close, very close second.

I'll miss both equally, but after watching the conclusion of both... I'd have to say the 00:00:03, 00:00:002, 00:00:01, 00:00:00 at the end of 24 struck me harder. There was no "Huh?!/WTF?!" feeling I got from the end LOST (Still enjoyed LOST though).

Honestly I have never watched lost. 24 though seems really good. I cannot denounce lost though as I stated above, I have not watched it.

24 will be deeply missed though :( or should I say, it is being missed.

Actually glad both shows have bit the bullet. Both have overstayed their welcome. LOST should have been a taught 3 season show. And 24 just turned into another formulaic MacGyver or Walker, Texas Ranger-esque action show after the first season.

I now prefer the consistent quality and tightly written 13-episode a season cable drama (see e.g. Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, Damages, etc.) over these network shows that like to waste my time with unnecessary filler episodes since they have 20 something episodes to fill. Good riddance.
