For such an advanced species, they have the worst security ever. at that gun fight - the special effects in the original 25 years ago were better than that.

Most of the scenes on the V-ships are horrible, and embarrassing in this day and age. It's like that have no budget and have to rely on cheap animation techniques for their backgrounds and backdrops.

Yeah, she gave a great performance there. I'm glad they didn't go with the hokey alien-razor-mouth shot they had in the promo.
I thought they had surveillance everywhere? I can understand not having any cameras in Anna's private chambers, but no camera pointed at the door? The hallway out front? No V saw the conversation between Juliet and Joshua?

The show is really very mindless sci-fi, with few of the issues an alien species coming to Earth would likely generate. You can bet that human leaders would be asking all sorts of questions in public that this show has not even touched. Why does an alien race from across the galaxy look identical to humans? The show is tolerable if you turn your brain off and accept the horrible CGI.

Yes, but to be fair, this show isn't near as smart as the first couple seasons of the new BSG. The cgi isn't near as good, there are huge loopholes (like the security in the mothership), but it still is fun. I'm enjoying it so long as I don't analyze it too much. At least they aren't making gigantic leaps ala Heroes.

A trifling loophole. How about the fact that after the first couple of episodes, in which it is established that the Vs monitor all terrestrial communication, including land lines, our heroes are still using unencrypted cell phones to communicate with each other?

I would assume they have the ability to monitor any communication they choose to pinpoint. It doesn't mean that they would be able to monitor every single communication made on Earth 24x7.

Why wouldn't they pinpoint Erica's cell phone and land line? Terrestrial law enforcement is surely a priority for monitoring.

The biggest problem is that the ships have less security than a Vegas casino.

I thought the red sky was because the Vs are finally moving ahead with their takeover plan and the first step in that plan is to convert the Earth to their environment -- to "V-form" the planet. I suspect their home planet has a red sky (orbits a red giant star?).
Anyone who's a fan of Firefly knows that Morena can act but it was hard to tell this season as she played a Terminator-like role that required no emotions. Nice to see her let loose like that and show her range as an actress.
Was that Joshua that they revived on the table at the end?

In the original, I remember the one scientist marveling at how they could have an identical evolution. Then they started rounding up all the scientists.

So, why did the priest send the letter to the medical bay? Why not send it to a part of the ship that they DON'T have inside guys there? I was completely confused as to the point of that other than to expose their own guys.

Didn't the V's capture the priest and "Compromise" him? I figured it was something he couldn't help due to that capture...
