Silly me, using logic on this show again.
Maybe granting wishes is different than selecting candidates.

How far this show has come... from a plane crash of survivors to a wish granting genie in the final episodes.

Wouldn't it suck if you were Jacob and the only way to connect with the female candidates was by touching their nipples for a period of time? Think of how much you'd need to explain to these chicks about how you are on this island and you threw your brother down the river and he turned into this smoke monster and how you have to prevent him from leaving the island, etc. Then, after they start to believe you, you have to explain that you gotta touch their nipples and there'd be a whole lot of awkwardness while you actually do it.

You've been having this dream where you are Jacob, correct?

And then you haven't had much experience in sexual contact so you're all tweaking them like radio dials, and the girls are thinking, "wow 2000 year old virgin. pathetic."

Hmm...I wonder if Jacob really is a virgin? He must have gotten a little somethin-somethin while away from the island right? You think he's got a few friends with benefits dialed into the lighthouse?

That's the big twist for the finale. Jacob knocked up all of the Losties mothers. Everyone is Jacobs kids!

That's what I'd do if I was Jacob.

Now THAT is a theory my friends. They all have daddy issues because none of them were raised by their paternal dad.

The series finale is now eligible for an Emmy nomination.

The Television Academy’s Board last night voted to update submission rules regarding an extended episode’s permitted length, granting 2010 Primetime Emmy® Awards eligibility for ABC’s final episode of Primetime Drama Series, Lost. The upcoming series finale is currently scheduled to run two and a half hours on May 23, 2010. Past rules have limited submission of extended length episodes to twice the normal running time, or two hours for a standard Primetime Drama Series episode.

There really is ripe ground here for a great porn version. Let's see: a big black smoke monster, a hot Asian chick who barely speaks English, several young nubile females, an introspective older "father" figure, a wise cracking con artist, bad wigs/costumes, topical settings, and an immortal virgin who needs to get laid to save the world.

Awesome!

Maybe leading to "Jacob" being the most popular name for boys?:

I'm fairly sure that Man-in-Black and Smoke Monster are somewhere near the bottom of the list

i don't really like the 9-11:30pm EST time for finale and couldn't imagine watching at 6pm on west coast on a Sunday, but i guess most convenient time. why was this not scheduled for usual Tuesday then?

They could make more revenue from commercials by running it the way they're running it. They were getting near-Oscars-level prices for the ads for this if I remember the report right.

Well they came out asking for 900k per :30 second spot, but I don't think there's been an article mentioning whether or not any companies bit at that price.

If they can somehow wrap up the finale with the Walt storyline of Season 1 and 2 I will be happy. IMO, that is the biggest disconnect in the series. Those that really think that they wrapped up this storyline satisfactory have to lay off the Dharlton juice once and for all.

I guarantee that Walt will only get minor lip service in the finale, if he's even mentioned at all.

Is Juliet expected to make an appearance? I'm curiou how they're going to tie up everybody's flash sideways. Jacob's "you're all a bunch of losers" speech wasn't very encouraging for an everyone lives happily in their other universe ever after ending.

I'm sure the "Walt closure" will be delivered in a monologue about how his purpose was served in some fashion offscreen.

Wait, are they showing the finale "live" in the West Coast?
Wow! I would be able to come here and still find less than 500 posts!
