The Vampire Diaries -- "Isobel" -- 05/06/10

Vampire Diaries

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Alaric's vampire wife Isobel returns to town and demands a meeting with her daughter Elena, but when the meeting takes place she refuses to answer most of Elena's questions. What she is most interested in is finding a mysterious invention John Gilbert is searching for.

Next week is the season finale.

Mia Kirshner (24, The L Word) is the guest star.

Nobody watch this this week?? I really would love if they killed off Bonnie, but I doubt they will kill off the only witch in the story...

I hadn't really noticed the lack of acting chops on Bonnie until this week. It just seems like she's playing on a different show. I don't think they can get rid of her because a witch seems pretty important to storylines, but they have to do something with her.

Mia Kirshner looked much better this week thank in the previous episodes. I would like to know more about her motivations to become a vampire, but I don't know if that's forthcoming.

Overall, I really enjoyed this episode.

Loved this week. Seem to be throwing a lot of characters at us. Are we to assume we're finally going to see modern day Katherine in the finale next week?

I pointed out Bonnie's horrible acting in last weeks thread and she didn't disapoint this this week.

I hope we don't see Katherine. Nothing more hackneyed than the evil doppelganger, poorly portrayed by the same actor/actress. I know its inevitable though.

Good episode.

I just hope her powers don't become a lazy writing crutch to get out of situations. It would be nice to see her powers develop or fleshed out some more. Either that or get rid of her completely.

It's not like we haven't already seen her portray Katherine multiple times this season.

Pretty good episode.

Isobel is a pretty interesting character, loved her scene with Alaric at the end.

Well not to mention that SURPRISE! she'll some magical jewelery that lets her walk around in the daylight too.

This was already done with Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and no one is going to top Alyson Hannigan's evil twin vampire!
