The success of this show also resulted in FX greenlighting another Southern-fused drama (don't recall the name though).
Anyway, looking forward to tonight's ep.

Yeah, just wanted to say how much I'm liking this show more and more with each subsequent episode.
Elmore Leonard definitely has his fingerprints all over this - it has the sudden but very natural shifts of comedy to drama along with his knack for well-defined and interesting characters. Even once-and-done characters who only get a scene or two have been better written than most main characters in the typical TV-dramas.

About three shows in, my wife said, "Well, it's hooked me."
Just a great, well-written show with likable characters, even some of the bad guys.

Excellent episode. This was easily one of my favourites of the season. I loved the back-and-forth between Raylan and the hostage-taker. It speaks volumes of the writers and actors that they were able to do such a great episode and not have Raylan shoot anyone.
An excellent blend of humour, suspense, and drama. This show just keeps getting better and better.
Glad Boyd is out! Next week looks just fantastic.
Agreed.

It took a few episodes, but this show has really grown on me. The dialogue is terrific and Timothy Olyphant deserves some Emmy attention. Loved the conversation between Raylan and Boyd. Next week's ep looks great.
(The way Boyd opened his arms and ran to his daddy at the end cracked me up

Awesome episode. I paused it about 15 minutes in and said "This is just going to be 30-40 minutes of one to one dialogue...and it's going to be fucking awesome!" And it was.

The whole ending sequence was great, beginning with the US Attorney telling Raylan to stay away from Boyd and then immediately cutting to Raylan waiting for Boyd outside the prison gate.
I also liked Raylan making sure he didn't touch the hostage-taker's hands once he found out where he got the shiv.

The dialogue/writing has been great so far and really sets this show apart. I hope Boyd getting out starts to setup a story arc.

Like how this show seems to finally be setting up a story arc. Not that I minded one shots; Olyphant's acting and the snappy dialogue has always had me hooked. Great news that it got another season.
I also loved how they used Otis Taylor's Ten Million Slaves at the end; more fitting than in Public Enemies IMO.

Guess we'll see more of Boyd Crowder next year - and that's a good thing.
Guess Boyd Crowder is going to stick around for little while longer.
After almost killing off his character in the pilot, the producers of FX's "Justified" have elevated the terrific Walton Goggins to a series regular on the show.
"He's amazing and he's just a great guy," said showrunner Graham Yost. "There had to be charm in 'Boyd.' We knew with 'Boyd,' going in, that who we cast was critical for the success of the pilot, therefore getting it to become a series. So Goggins' casting was really instrumental. Without him, we wouldn't be on the air. "
"It just made sense on so many levels," says Goggins. "I've been a fan of executive producer Graham Yost's work, as well as Timothy Olyphant, for a long time. That coupled with an opportunity to be back with my family at FX and play in Elmore Leonard's sandbox was just too good to pass up."
"Justified" just received a pickup for a second season on the network.
