South Park - "Crippled Summer" - 4/28/10
Competition is the name of the game this summer. There is no time for Jimmy and his friends to slack off. They're working to be this year's champions at summer camp. Jimmy suits up and prepares to shred in the annual surfing contest.

Was the red team suppose to be spoofs of Looney Tune characters? Was the Camp stuff a spoof o an 80's film?

The blue team clearly included Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, Droopy Dog, and Beaky Buzzard.

Ugh. Terrible. The text breaks was killing it.

Don't see what all the complaints are about. It wasn't the best they've done but it wasn't terrible like some of you are making it out to be either...I liked the Looney Tunes spoofs and the intervention with Towelie. I'd say overall this run has been good 200 and 201 are some of the best shows they've ever done and I also really enjoyed the "You Have 0 Friends" episode as well.

It had to be hard to follow the greatness that was the last two episodes, but I think they did a pretty good job.
I love that the camp is called Tardicaca, lol. Nathan has been a favourite since his drug peddling appearance. I loved how he would talk intelligently and coherently, but then whenever an adult came around he would start acting extremely disabled. The Red and Blue teams parodying Looney Tunes characters was great; I imagine some disabled rights groups will be pretty upset about the comparison. I lost it when Jimmy was surfing. The visual of the shark raping Nathan was pretty funny too; "Noo, not the shark again! Not the shark again!"
I was pretty excited for the return of Towelie. His character never fails to make me laugh and tonight was no exception. While I enjoyed the Timmy/Jimmy storyline, Towelie stole the show.
lol @ Kyle calling Towlie an "ancillary character with a few clever catchphrases."
Cartman's speech was absolutely hilarious. The cutback to the stack of papers as tall as Cartman was brilliant.
Those narration cards were inspired.
I was coming in the thread to post the exact same thing. I can't believe I didn't realize it until tonight.

This season has been great. But I just couldn't get into this episode. I agree about the text breaks. It killed the pacing. Cartman's speech was the only funny part.

I thought the red team were parodies of Rocky & Mugsy, the gangster looney tunes characters. And one of the blue team was clearly Pete Puma (ewwwww).

You guys do realize that the text breaks are a major part of the show Intervention, right? A show they were parodying from beginning to end. Leaving them out would be like doing a Star Wars parody and leaving out the intro text-crawl.
