Re: Breaking Bad -- "Sunset" -- 04/25/10
Hank totally could have gone into that RV. Generally speaking, an RV IS a motor vehicle for purposes of 4th Amendment law, if it's not connected to utilities or semi-permanently parked somewhere. If you can just turn the ignition and drive off, it's going to be treated as a motor vehicle.
This was a great episode though. I have a feeling that bubbly, "science is magic" guy is less of an assistant and more there to learn Walt's formula for Gus, so Gus can hand Walt over to the twins.

I would wager you don't know too many federal law enforcement. Nearly every one I've ever met is pretty sharp and savvy on the law, as Hank has been shown to be.

Another incredible episode. Pretty intense.
When Walt drove down to the lot to have them destroy the RV, I didn't understand why he didn't think to tell Jesse's buddy not to call him to tell him about it. Walt suspected that Hank could be listening in Jesse's conversations and that he was on his trail and probably watching his every move - yet he didn't think enough to warn people around him that the heat was on. Pretty dumb.
It really does feel like Hank will eventually start to suspect Walt, due to already mentioned timing of his call to Walt and a personal fake call about his wife. I think Hank will find out by the end of the season, but he may wind up dead anyways. I hope not, I like the Hank character.
David Costablie looks very different without the beard I'm used to seeing him with in Damages. Had it not been for the voice, I may not have figured it was him.
I really hate having to wait a week for the next episode.

Wow, this was the best episode of the season. So much tension, so many good things about this: I really liked the relationship between Walt and the assistant (who was also the smarmy editor from The Wire season 5). Good to see Walt and Jesse team up again. We got Jesse's two friends who are always fun to see. The original junkyard owner returns, and helps Walt out. The other junkyard owner buys them time. The RV destroyed. Oh and minimal time with Skylar.
Not to mention Saul being in the episode, Gus and the cousins throughout, and the very last scene.

You missed something. Hank drove to the mechanics yard. He then drove the RV to the junk yard so it could be destroyed. Hank was a the junk yard, so there was no possibility of seeing Walt's car because that was at the 1st place. That's why he wanted the guy to call him a cab.

Actually I do quite a few more than I want to know seeing as I'm generally on the wrong side of the law but my intelligence has kept them at bay. My late uncle who died this year was an ex-ranger and FBI. I'm only on the wrong side of the law if you believe that growing a plant is illegal anyway never anything violent.

Two things that I thought were neat that were posted to AMC's Breaking Bad website:
- you can download Hank's "Marie" ring tone created by Breaking Bad composer Dave Porter
- there's an interview with the actor who plays 'Gus'

Wow...just wow. Between the opening and the RV scene, this was by far my favorite episode of the series (not just season). I don't think my heart beat for 10 minutes during that RV scene.
Whatever chance there was of an understanding between Walt and Hank (when Hank finds out) just went out the window with that phone stunt. I would say I'd love to see Hank get his man, but I'm not ready for the show to end. I'm guessing Walt will have to somehow save Hank's life before the season ends and only then will Hank's identity be revealed.
Breaking Bad just became my 3rd favorite television show ever.

I'm just hoping the coincidence is avoided where Hank finds out about Walt, but doesn't get to tell anyone before he gets whacked.

Wow...this show never ceases to amaze me. Why isn't all television this good?
I was sure Hank was going to have a fatal grabber at the hospital. But now it seems he has bigger problems (that he is yet to be aware of). So much for avoiding El Paso...

Best ep of the season by FAR!! The intensity of the RV scene was amazing! I felt like I was going to puke the entire time..
Great to see Badger again. That dude cracks me up.. I think the chemistry assistant is definitely there to learn Walt's recipe.. He just plays to Walt so perfectly that Walt doesn't suspect it..
The Wire and The Shield 1 and 2?

Yeah I'm guessing they were slightly inconvenienced by that, and went elsewhere with no problems. They're starting to remind me of Anton Chigurh in that regard.

Excellent episode. I'm not a Skyler hater, but it was good to have her in the background for a while. Glad that Walt and Jesse are back together (in some capacity); Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have great chemistry (
) together. Loved the little scene at the end when Walt - ever the teacher - was explaining something to Jesse as the forklift was smashing up the RV.
