How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

I recently got a hike in my bill so I was wondering how out of the ordinary my price is. My promotion ran out, and for the past few years I've just called and had it reinstated but they're cutting me off from them now, so I'm paying what they tried to convince me is the 'fair and going rate'.

Here's what I got:
Charter Communications:
Digital Home Package (100 channels)
HD-DVR Equipment Upgrade
HD Set Box Equipment Upgrade
TV Guide and OnDemand
Premium Package Channels (HBO,Cinemax,Starz,Encore,TMC,Showtime)
HD Ultra View (HDNet/HDNet Movies)

Grand total is just under $100 a month. (promotion used to get me down to $90/mo)

Re: How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

I have the digital home package (includes TV Guide and OnDemand) with Charter and pay $25/month. The management company that runs my building, and several others, has some kind of arrangement with Charter for discounted rates.

That is a pretty good deal, looking at the break down of my bill the Digital Home Package alone is $45.

Re: How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

The bill just came today. I know the total is right but I'm working out some fees based on the ones I know. They just raised the prices price $7 while removing Oxygen, CMT and TruTV off of basic to digital (meaning 3/4 of the TVs in my house don't get them anymore). I'm looking to see if I can save money on a internet/phone bundle because this is getting ridiculous. I can't get Sat due to trees.

Time Warner:
Basic digital package - $55
HD/DVR box fee - $10
DVR fee - $11
Taxes and fees - $6
----------------
Total: $82.30

I have Grande Communications. I'm getting some kind of deal for having cable, phone and internet. My entire bill is about $125. But this is the cable breakdown. Only get 44 HD channels though. They are adding 10 more in May I believe.

Super Digital $ 41.95
Includes Broadcast Basic Cable Service With Associated Broadcast
Network Retransmission Fees ($18.95), And Digital Cable Service
Addl Digital Receiver $ 7.95
D V R Service $ .00
And Receiver Upgrade
H D T V Tier $ 1.95
2 Premium Combo $ 25.99
HBO "The Works" & Showtime Unlimited Premium Combo
Showtime Offer $ -9.36
Taxes and Fees $9.46

Total $77.94

Re: How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

I'm paying around $180 a month with Comcast. But I get a bunch of stuff.

High Speed Internet with Powerboost
All the premium movie channels
200+ standard channels
Around 40 HD channels
On Demand channels
DVR service
2 HD DVR boxes and 2 standard boxes
Internet modem

I think the cable runs around $80, the internet costs around $60, equipment is $15-$20 and the rest goes to fees/taxes.

$0. Haven't had cable in a while. Just don't see how it's worth $5/day.

Re: How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

$63.00 for just broadband and basic local channels.

If I got the "triple play" it would be $99.99 monthly for the first year then $150.00 each month after that.

Re: How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

Digital Starter (all reg cable and six whole Digital Cable chans, plus HD) + 1 HD cable box + Internet (15mbps) = $110 a month here

Of course, like $50 is internet so I only pay about $60 for cable (Comcast).

Don't have my cable bill handy but it's about $155 after taxes. That does not include phone or Internet. You bastards have it good.

Re: How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

I hate charter with a passion.. since that was our only option for cable we opted to go with the Dish Network package... So far i've been really really happy.. only lost serivce once when the snow covered the dish and didn't allow the signal to get though.

Re: How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

Around $80 for expanded basic plus 20mbps broadband. Since our ability to get programming online is growing and QAM allowing us to get HD local and other digital channels at no additional cost, we are considering dropping to basic, which will drop our bill down to just over $50.

Re: How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

Just a tad under 20 a month after all of the fees and taxes. I had to specifically ask Comcast for this package. It's like sub-basic. And we only have that for kids shows.

Like many others here, I just don't think it's worth it.

I can find most of what I want to watch on the internet or at the library.

Re: How Much Do You Pay For Your Cable?

About $70 from Cox Communications, with Digital Cable and an HD Receiver rental I think. I need to cancel HBO and Showtime to lower it a bit. I have no need for a DVR.

There's no other way to watch Sporting events live, and I watch a lot of Basketball, as well as Baseball and Football. If it weren't for that, then basic cable would be enough.
