Seems very one-sided to the Mongol, but I guess we shall see. I thought the Ming warrior should have won the last one.

That mace the Mongol used was a beast. I'm surprised it lost the matchup.

Can't wait for next week's matchup: Navy SEALs vs. Israeli commandos. Usually I prefer the ancient warrior matchups, but I'll bet they get some great experts for this one.

(It's the season finale, BTW)

I need to watch this more often, it's pretty entertaining. I've only seen Pirate vs Knight and Shaolin Monk vs Maori warrior. The only bad thing is that the 3 hosts are really obnoxious in their reactions to the weapons testing. They scream "OH MY GOD!" "WHOA!" "THAT'S CRAZY!" after every test.

Hey anyone know the name of a similar show where two fighting styles face off or something like that? It's hosted by a green beret I believe.

this season went by fast.

btw, I hate that computer dork... he thinks he's cool, because he's hanging out with the other guys, but in realty he's a big dork.

He does stick out like a sore thumb when he's standing with the other guys. I mean, even the ER doctor is pretty ripped.

Damn, that Navy SEAL was scary with the knife.

I was surprised the final result was so close. The SEALs were clearly better with every weapon except the explosives.

Spike renews 'Deadliest Warrior'
Show averaged 1.6 million viewers for first two seasons
By James Hibberd
Aug 16, 2010, 12:20 PM ET

Spike TV has renewed hypothetical combat reality series "Deadliest Warrior."

The network is bringing back the 44 Blue-produced reality show for a third season.

The show simulates famous warriors throughout history doing battle. Next season, former Navy SEAL Richard "Mack" Machowicz, the former host and producer of "Future Weapons," also joins the cast.

The show has averaged 1.6 million viewers for its first two seasons. The third round of 10 episodes will debut next summer.

Good news. I figured they'd run out of warriors after about one season. Looking forward to see what they come up with next season.

Re: Deadliest Warrior Season 2 - 4-20-10

The show is a fun diversion. At times it gets too predicatable and there is a lot of fill/rehashing, but it's worth a record.

I just like seeing gel-torsos full of blood get smashed by maces and axes.

Don't forget the pig carcasses. I almost feel sorry for the poor production techs that have to clean up the mess these guys leave.

Re: Deadliest Warrior Season 2 - 4-20-10

This show is OK, but I can only watch it when it's been recorded because there is so much filler. I only watch it for the weapons. After fast-forwarding through the redundant narration, reused simulations and lame smack talk I probably watch less than half the episode's content.

But really that's all the show is. The premise is just an excuse to show off the weapons. The weapon loadouts selected on that basis and the final "computer simulation" results are a joke.
