Re: Lost -- "The Package" -- 03/30/10
I'm starting to think they switched bodies like a previous poster mentioned earlier in a thread.

Re: Lost -- "The Package" -- 03/30/10
widmore: "if he gets out everything will cease to exist"
isabella: "stop the MIB from leaving the island or we all go to hell" jacob: "if you kill me then someone else will just take my place" mib: "then i'll kill them too" um yeah, MIB sounds like a really good guy  (besides it's too late in the game for LOST to pull a role reversal twist) i think MIB was probably cursed by some black magic witchcraft or something. that was popular in stories back in the day |

I forgot when in the timeline that exchange took place though, or if it was even clear. It's possible that Widmore et. al were aware of the MiB being the evil entity on the island, but if bodies were switched at some point that would mean Widmore, Ben, Richard, etc. are following the wrong guy right now. |

Re: Lost -- "The Package" -- 03/30/10
why would Jacob want people to come to the island and get a "fresh start" if he's the bad guy
and MIB said something like "jacob betrayed me, he took my body and humanity"... i just assumed he was just saying that Jacob is responsible for his smokiness and not that he literally took his body for himself but on the flipside, maybe thats the reason Jacob lets MIB try on dead bodies that come to the island -eek- |

Of course how this ties in with letting himself get killed by Ben is anyone's guess. |
Re: Lost -- "The Package" -- 03/30/10
The big Christian is what/who the hell is Christian? He is confirmed to have appeared off island to Jack during the O6 storyline so it couldn't have been MiB, if we are believing that the MiB hasn't been able to leave the island yet.
The other question I want to know, HOW does Jacob physically leave the island during the O6 storyline, and in the lostie's pasts? A few days after 316 crashes on Hydra island Jacob is already back at his statue! |

Hadn't thought of that.
My theory is that Jacob is limited to short excursions off the island, as we have seen. By finding a replacement he would be able to leave for good. When we saw them at the end of S5, Jacob = Good, MiB = Bad. Sometime since, they switched bodies. Therefore MiB in Jacob's body is the one that truly want's off the island, while Jacob in MiB body needs to get off the island to replug the cork back into the bottle. Of course how this ties in with letting himself get killed by Ben is anyone's guess. |
Re: Lost -- "The Package" -- 03/30/10
didn't Hurley also see Christian or at least get word from some other dead person that Jack would get a visit?
the only versions we know were the same Christian, was the Christian in the cabin w/ Claire & the one that guided Locke in nudging the wheel down in the Orchid station the freighter Christian and the hospital Christian, there is nothing that says they were Smokey the only Christian you know for a fact was Smokey was the one that Lapidus/Sun ran into when they came back on the Ajira flight |

I don't know, that just seems too weird. We haven't seen anything to support that theory, and it makes it extremely difficult to follow who is literally who and their associated motivations. It would be like watching Face/Off, but never seeing any scenes or dialogue that tells you they had operations.

Jack was hopped up on drugs during that scene, I don't think he was actually there. Jack was seeing things.
Mirror, mirror on the wall... You think Jacob walked through a mirror? |

The MiB/Christian/Jack confrontations have to happen IMO. |

I find it incredibly disturbing that so many people think the MIB is the "God" figure and that Jacob is the "devil" figure. I thought it was all clearly explained in the previous episode where it was said that the MIB thinks he knows what is good for everyone and tries to force everyone to join his side through forceful promises and deals and lies, while Jacob wants people to join his side based on their own free will. That's basically Satan vs God right there in a nutshell. (for those that need help: God is for free will).
Hell, your argument still isn't very good since we have seen Jacob be just as misleading as MIB. Jacob told Richard he couldn't bring back his wife, yet he is capable of granting immortality and able to bring back to life Dogan's son, who also never went to the island before dying. Jacob also mislead Hurley when he told him to take Jack to the lighthouse, later telling Hurley he just needed to get Jack and Hurley away from the temple because everyone was going to die. So Jacob misleads folks and he knew beforehand about all the deaths at the temple and he let those people die, just so long as he saved his two candidates. MIB could have taken Sun this week, but he said he wouldn't make her do anything she didn't want to. He gave her the free will and she chose to run away. |
Re: Lost -- "The Package" -- 03/30/10
^ and at the same time you are ignoring the vengeful God from the Old Testament that wasn't above killing or tossing a plague here or flood there. It's not out of the realm of possibility on this show.

 Why not? We're talking about a show with moving/disappearing islands, a smoke monster and time travel. Why not toss in a transporting mirror? Dial up Jack's house and dive right in.

Don't forget that according to Ben, "Somewhere on the island is a large box and whatever you imagined, whatever you wanted, would be inside that box." :)

yeah man, how absurd would it be to be able to walk through a mirror that can look back in time at someones childhood home let's get serious |

Nice callback. |
Re: Lost -- "The Package" -- 03/30/10
smoke can turn into humans and jacob can look through a mirror into other people's lives -- does this then make the question of how locke could suddenly walk on the island moot? or do you guys think we'll still have those basic season 1 mysteries answered somehow.
