Unless Cole is in on all of this, too? Or maybe it's Arlo?

Also, I am laughing at the number of "guest stars" that are coming on to get their "24 Superbowl Ring" in the final season.

The shootout scene made up for the momentary lapse in stupidity there, IMO. I have to say, knowing the show is ending really affects how I'm watching. A few weeks ago I would have been upset they were killing of Ethan, now it's like, 'meh... who cares?

And are we going to get a cameo from Aaron before the season is up? He made it through last season didn't he?

I'm not a Doctor, but we saw at the beginning of the season that Ethan was taking pills for his heart condition. I know it was ridiculously convenient, but that was a really stressful situation (confronting Rob and the General) and I know stress can trigger a heart attack.

'24' Boss to fans: Be patient with Dana

The highlight:
Moles and betrayals are the stock and trade of the show....
“I understand how it appears [to be] tiresome and lazy storytelling, but I really would betray anyone to try to sit in our chair and figure out how to do 24 continuous, real time episodes, without using certain devices,”

Spoiler:
We have completely ran out of original ideas.

It’s like saying, ‘Another murder on CSI? Are you kidding?!’ Moles and betrayals are the stock and trade of the show.
Um...yeah..but the issue is what you do with the character before the betrayal is revealed. Thanks for confirming you guys didn't know what the fuck was going on and just needed a twist.

When was she even communicating with the terrorists? We saw her at just about every moment of her day. She couldn't take calls from Billy Bob at her desk, but she'll talk to the head terrorist RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE?

Exactly. Or how about when the parole officer guy was there and she was shitting a brick in the corner about how she was going to deal with it, then next episode she's cool as a cucumber murder and shoves him in the wall and goes all stone face calm. Lame.

They weren't even involved at the beginning though. We're supposed to believe that they were so confident in there ability to not only get the nukes from the brother but also the Russians that she was in place long before the ball got rolling on anything?

Heart attack right after being lied to? Just like that part in season 2 with Palmer's wife refusing to give the pills to that one guy.

And as for not handing over Hassan...I understand the rationale, but it's funny how Palmer had no problem letting Jack shoot Chappelle in the head back in season 3.

Yep.

I remember people bitching about President Logan's turn in Season 5, but when I rewatched that season it fit fine. This will NEVER make any sense. Ever. It's lazy. It's "We need a mole. Who do people hate? Okay Dana." They wasted half a season on her total bullshit storyline and now want us to buy her as a totally different character. Not going to happen.

Also in Season 5, the Russians demanded that the President let them kill the Russian president or else stuff goes kablooey. And shocker, the same exact scenario happened last night.

If you can no longer do the job, HIRE PEOPLE WHO CAN. This nonsense about "Hey, this is hard, we're so tired, you try coming up with something new. Shut up and take the regurgitated bullshit we give you." attitude is insulting.

LOL It's embarrassing that he even said that. I understand their compulsion to have another mole in some fashion on the show. The problem is that it's Dana--who was a completely different character a few shows ago.

I'm certain if there had been clues dropped since episode one, or even if she'd off'd the old boyfriend without hesitation, we might accept this turn. But to turn from a serious basketcase to this uber-mole...c'mon...

What's most insulting is that I actually believe the writers KNEW since episode one that she would be a mole. I think that's why they brought in someone like Katie Sackhoff for the role. She plays vulnerable and mean quite good if you've ever seen BSG. But to write her the way they did was just stupid and lazy.

And unfortunately, since it's the last season, they won't have any chance to redeem themselves as writers the way they did after Kim and the cougar.

At least he didn't insult the fans like Damon/Carlton did a few weeks ago over fans' negative reaction to a certain episode.

I like Howard Gordon alot and think he's one of 24's best writers, but that was a really lame explanation.

It also indicates that the rest of the episodes won't even attempt to make sense of it all, which I guess is a good thing.

At this point I'm hoping this season ends with Jack back in the hospital from last season, and everything this year was part of his dementia.

Just watched it last night - enjoyed the shootout, but the rest was pretty weak.
Spoiler:

CTU Boss: "Okay people there's a dirty bomb about to go off in lower Manhattan, but you can't tell your friends and family. Now let's get to work."
Dana:"Excuse me, I need to make a personal call on my cell phone right now right in front of everybody, I'll talk low so as not to raise suspicion."

Absolute shit
