American Idol Top 11, March 23 / 24
Looks like American Idol is shooting for the younger crowd this week. The mentor is...
Miley Cirus. Plus she, along with Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato will be performing on Wednesday.
As for what the Top 11 will be singing, it is Billboard #1 Hits week. It was going to be Teen Idols week, but they changed it for some reason.
And the mentor for next week, the Top 10, will be Usher.
Tuesday: Two hour show, 8/7c
Wednesday: One hour results show, 9/8c
Well, that's about all I have. Who do you think will go home this week?

I heard about Miley yesterday and hoped it was a bad rumor.
Wow.
There's nothing else to say.
I just hope Taylor Swift isn't next.

Will be finding out the results online. I'm not even wasting DVR space on that utter dreck. I'd rather record Kevin Covais reinterpreting Shatner and Nemoy classics than watch that.

Last week Ke$ha. This week Miley Cyrus. Shining example of girls who can't sing. Good role models for the contestants. Yeah, please have Taylor Swift next week. Then it will be the trifecta of bad singers.

Paige was the worst, but they were mostly all bad.
Crystal was fine, Casey was fine (but nothing special), most of the songs were terrible choices that would be impossible to get past the corney stage.

Paige was the worst and should be gone.
I didnt think Siobhan was as good as what the judges said nor Didi as bad as what they said.
Crystal as always was very good although Janis was an obvious comfort zone for her.

Not a good week, only a few performances that I actually enjoyed. And I'll be skipping tomorrow's results show.

I thought Siobhan was channeling Sanjaya tonight.
This hour was difficult to watch. If it weren't for Crystal, I'd be done with this season. And I've watched since the beginning.
Paige was so bad that I actually laughed out loud through the second half of her performance. Most of the others weren't much better. WTH picks those songs with virtually every hit to choose from?

Crystal Bowersox was the best tonight, but I'm still getting the notion that she's just tolerating the show. Win or lose, she'll be one of the contestants that badmouths the show, or tries to pretend that it doesn't exist.
Paige was terrible, one of the worst performances in recent AI history. However, I think Tim will go tomorrow. And they won't use their save.
I don't know Miley Cyrus' music from a fart in the wind, but she's not very attractive.
And another week of Ellen being useless.

Lee Dewyze - Not bad, at least he seemed like he was enjoying himself on stage.
Paige Miles - sounded like she was out of breath, so her vocals seemed to just trail off too softly or went to 11 when it didn't need to do so. A futile exercise in trying to demonstrate her dynamic range. Did she ever show a raspiness to her voice, it didn't really work for this song. Don't even get me started on the pitchiness, dawg....
Tim Urban - is now in the running for Karoake Idol champ for 2010. The slide was so dumb. Far too much pandering to the teen idol thang without the vocals to back it up. The audio equivalent of Sominex.
Aaron Kelly - Again, not bad, but he's voice is still to vibratto-ish for my liking.
Crystal Bowersox - not sure of the song choice where you just sing "Bobby McGhee" and just a bunch of "Na-na's" for half the song, but she can sing.
Michael Lynche - though his voice has this whiney tang to it, and not the best falsetto, he's still far too in love with himself to embrace him seriously.
Andrew Garcia - he has no range, and has to rely on weird vocal inflections to get through the lyrics at times.
Katie Stevens - what was with the key she sang the song in? It sounded so shrill. Horrific performance.
Casey James - with a song with more stacatto stops, it got rid of most of his goattishness to his vocals, and was one of his better performances.
Didi Benami - has this weird lilt and inflections in a tempo that was a tad too slow for my taste, but performance-wise, she's appears to be trying to be getting better.
Siobhan Magnus - The production of it was ridiculous, even for the pimp spot. She goes far too low when she doesn't have to, which gives the song a weird quality to it at times. But very current rendition, but should have shown restraint for the screechy notes at the end.
