Not really. Charlie was still a druggie rock star. Claire was still trying to give up her baby. Kate was still a fugitive. Locke was still a wheelchair-bound office peon.

And Jack is still a surgeon. So far, Sawyer has been the only one with a different career.

Or Smokey took a night trip to Hydra Island?

god this episode is fucking weak so far...

I thought it was established early in the first or second season when Jack asked Sawyer about diseases he had that he had herpes.

For some reason I see Smokey rolling right through Widmore's private security.

Jack was probing him to find out the problem, then told Sawyer he had herpes to piss him off. Sawyer needed glasses.

why it took so long for Kate to acknowlege Locke being dead (~33 min into the show)...and then just brushed it off

and was Locke(Smokester) basically saying that he is the result of his mother being infected? hmm...

No, their lives off-island are paralleling what happened to their alt-selves on the island. Sawyer ended up as Dharma security chief with Miles as his second in command; now he's a cop with Miles as his partner.

This episode was a bore.

Solid episode.

The story is starting to move along nicely...

so yeah not as great as previous episodes but it did it's job as a good setup episode. I guess in a few episodes the "War" will finally start.

Team Locke vs Team Widmore with Team Jack/Jacob stuck somewhere in the middle

it was a waste of an hour, nothing really happened, this was the first back story that was really lame and boring. The island stuff was lame too. This season has been awful. The show is really going out on low note. This season just has been boring
