I'm going to come to the defense of MY MOTHER THE CAR. Absurd premise and not a "classic", but the show itself was enjoyable. I think MMTC is one of those shows that people call one of the worst without ever having seen it.

Re: Worst tv shows of all time list! Work-in-progress! Due 2011!

I remember a show that ran briefly in the late 70's/early 80's called (I think) Condo. McClain Stevenson and his family live in a condo (duh) and a mexican family move in next door. Hilarity ensues! I think the long term storyline called for the mexican son to knock up Stevenson's daughter, but the show didn't last long enough. This would certainly be a contender.

There was another show that ran briefly in the same period called Open All Night, a ripoff of the British sit-com Open All Hours. I remember liking it at the time (I was a kid), but I imagine it was really terrible.

Not sure if they were on the list, but syndicated crap like Harry and the Hendersons and Small Wonder were uniformly awful.

Jackie Gleason : "You're in the Picture"
by werquin

You're in the Picture was a game show hosted by Jackie Gleason that aired for only one episode on January 20, 1961

The following week, Gleason appeared in the same time-slot and apologized for the show he presented the week before.
Jerry Seinfeld should seriously consider doing this for The Marriage Ref.

Family matters

Some of the shows that Uni-HD has on now that had only 5 or 6 episodes that actually aired are really bad. They call it rediscovered tv.

Fish should be on this list. It starred Abe Vigoda in a spin-off of his character from "Barney Miller". The basic premise was to take his character and surround him with 5 annoying, bratty foster kids. (Yes, the show was as bad as that premise sounds).

Except for the obviouc reality show shit, those are almost the exact ones I would pick. Saved by the Bell is up there as well.

TV isn't much better these days. Some of the stuff my kids like on Nick is absolutely awful.

It also goes without saying that most Saturday morning cartoons are atrocious.

The list specifies Disney's Doug, which was a pretty poor continuation of the Nickelodeon version which was one of the better cartoons of the 90s.

Belongs in http://forum.dvdtalk.com/tv-talk/570...ue-2011-a.html <-- that thread, but that would require continuing this pointless trend of "Hey this guy has an opinion that results in a long, long list" threads.

Anywho, a lot of decent shows on the list, nowhere near the worst of the worst, no CSI: Miami? According to Jim at #71? No Til Death? The Pitts? 2 1/2 Men? Flying Nun? Holmes & Yoyo? Mann & Machine?

I was going to post basically the same thing until I saw your response. I presume the "investors" are elderly folk with early onset alzheimer's, and the company doing the survey is run by deposed Nigerian royalty who will use the results to take back their throne. My vote is that the "investors" get their money back.

Several years indeed.

Re: Worst tv shows of all time list! Work-in-progress! Due 2011!

Okay, I'll play along:
1. The middle third of "Law & Order: SVU" episode 126 dragged a little, so let's include that
2. "McNeill-Lehrer Newshour" 2001 season (no laughs at all)
3. Charlie Chaplun
4. "Naked City" - Despite the title, no nudity whatsoever.
5. "I Dream of Jeannie" - stupid concept, there's no such thing as genies
6. "Hogan's Heroes" - a comedy about a Nazi prison camp?!?! WTF - OMG
7. Ron Popeil infomercials
8. "The Wire" - my 4-year-old hates this show.
9. "Adventures of Brisco County Jr" - not an accurate depiction of life in the American West
10. "Bosom Buddies" - never actually saw the show, but it has an odd name

Hell you could pick 90% of what's in prime time imo, so what's the point?

Though I have grown to appreciate According to Jim. Pretty funny stuff sometimes, plus the two women on there are smokin' hot

I was unaware of Condo, but I certainly remember Hello Larry (which is on the list) which aired when I was a kid. I remembered it mostly from the theme song and at the time I thought the two daughters were hot. I remembered not liking the show, but not hating it either. It was just there. A few months ago I watched a few episodes on Youtube and I couldn't believe how horribly unfunny the show was. The jokes were incredibly lame and there was nothing redeeming about it. Hard to believe Mclean Stevenson left MASH for this.

Some episodes of Condo appears to be on Youtube as well, I'm going to have to check it out to see how bad it is.

EDIT: Just noticed Marc Price (aka Skippy Handleman from Family Ties) is in this. The theme song/intro is horrid.

OK. I watched the first episode where MacLean Stevenson's family moves into a condo the same day the Mexican family next door moves into theirs.

A couple corrections... McLean Stevenson's family has the son who winds up secretly marrying the Mexican family's daughter next door... and gets her pregnant... all in the pilot episode.

Terrible show, but still miles better than Hello Larry.

As a kid I remember seeing this show listed in the TV guide coming on at midnight. So one night I snuck out of my room and turned it on. Incredibly disappointing.
