Interview with former 24 Director Jon Cassar talking about this season. He makes some very good points. It's a very good watch. The interview is broken up into 4 parts and runs about 25 mins.

Pretty good episode half-way through. Enjoyed Jack's brief encounter with the Department of Justice lady. Hopefully we see him bust Renee out before too long..
Farad played it pretty cool, but I figured he was freaking out at these guys wanting to detonate a nuclear weapon so soon. Looks like he bit off more than he could chew; the guy that took charge really seems psychotic.
EDIT: He wasn't on screen for long, but was one of those terrorists the gay kid from The War At Home/the Egyptian Prince in Night At The Museum? Looked like him, but I wasn't sure.

I lost it when Jack adjusted the strap of his bag to indicate he was fully committed.
Someone needs to make a .gif of that, lol.

Well this had the makings of a decent episode, but wow, that was totally half assed.
First they make a HUGE deal about Rene only to have Jack make it go away. Then we have Cole getting involved in that lame sub plot. ARGH! What the hell happened to this show?

Yeah I was expecting more from Jack trying to break Renee out, but this resolution will at least allow Jack to be in the field and hopefully fight some bad guys.
At least Cole's involvement in the Jenny subplot means those two guys are dead and we don't have to worry about them in the future.

This may not have been the best episode, but I'm thinking it's gearing up now.
Rednecks are dead. Jack back in the field. Main plot and villain (possibly) revealed. And as long as Bubba keeps up his end of the bargain, Renee out of trouble.
There were some pretty lame elements so far this season, but it seems like in one episode all the dumb stuff has been resolved and they can get down to business.
We'll see.

loved tonight's episode! Kevin is gone! The threat is back! and Jack is here for good!
I even liked the mini-Renee storyline. Jack once again protecting his woman. Kinda wished he escaped CTU with Renee - just to see him destroy CTU security.
And I like how the writers are allowing Hastings to seek Bauer's help all the time, instead of the usual backlash he gets from previous CTU Directors (ala Driscoll Day 3).

Given Jack's speech to Hastings, I think they're slowly grooming him to be a pseudo-Bill. Someone unafraid to simply unleash Jack and then pool CTU resources to clean up the mess. At least I hope so.

I thought tonight's episode was good, but not great.
I am glad that the stupid redneck subplot is finally out of the picture. I agree that it appears the season is finally getting it's kinks out of the way, especially with Jack and Hastings coming to their compromise and with him riding it in the field with CTU until the end.
Renee's little inquisition of how Jack feels about her was a little awkward and kind of reminded me of what Audrey said to him back in season 5 about how he felt about her when he was in the middle of a crisis. Personally I like them together (much more than Teri, Kate and even Audrey), but I hope it doesn't interfere with the main plot. Jack is indeed very protective of his women. They can have sex in Hour 25.
I have to admit that I was surprised to see Farad freak out about using the rods on American soil and run away like a scared little girl.
Chloe getting pissed off and letting out sighs of frustration was pretty funny.
Next week does look good.

Glad the Dana walsh story is over
Jack went a bit far grabbing the justice lady by the throat, she was only following orders
They have really gone up the bigger bads really quick. From Berzahov to Sark to the brother to extremists

Jack grabbing the Justice lady by the throat and punching the CTU guard out was totally within his character. That is minor compared to some of the shit he's done in the past.
I'm surprised the Department of Justice actually has people working at Midnight.

At Jack's graduation, he did not move the tassel of his cap from the right to left. Instead he moved his Jack Sack strap from the right to left shoulder.
