Not that I didn't see it coming but Young Justice, Avengers and Tron cancelled. I'm done with Cartoon Network and Disney.

Not so fast...

Young Justice and GL are officially "put on hold" since they don't want 4 DC shows on at once. A younger more anime-cartooney version of Teen Titans (yes, even more so then before) and a new Batman show are starting up soon.

Both of those look really bad. TT won't even have real bad guys in it as most of the episodes are in a sitcom like format where the TT will fight each other over housework and the TV.

It's a shame about Young Justice. I haven't seen all of the episodes but from what I have seen it seemed like a pretty solid show. Not too interested in the new Teen Titans series and as big of a Batman fan as I am not too keen on the description of Beware the Batman either.

No, the shows have now been confirmed to be canceled, directly from Warner's animation department. I've been hearing really awful things about the upcoming DC cartoons and that they are already on the chopping block before even airing.

Sounds like Warner/DC needs to dissolve their relationship with CN.

Then why cancel Young Justice and Green Lantern?

So CN has all but given up trying to convert the channel to a live action format, so now they're just feeding us dumbed down crapola? 90 percent of the channels line up is garbage.

Lots of odd stuff has been coming out in whispers about Cartoon Network's management. I would expect things to get worse before they get better. I imagine they are running scared from DisneyXD, which will soon have exclusive monopolies on both Star Wars and Marvel's cartoons.

Looks like CN will have to-oh-get creative and make some interesting animated programming for once. Much less Johnny Test, Annoying Orange, and Ben ten, and much more Adventure Time, and Regular Show.

Damn. One of my favorite shows too. I might watch the new Batman show, but otherwise there's really nothing on CN that appeals to me.

Re: Young Justice League Animated Series in the works

Weren't there rumors earlier that CN was not pleased with the DC Nation block?

And yeah, it's really hard to put a cartoon (or really any show) on extended hiatus, unless you're having the team work on episodes and just hoarding them for some later date. Otherwise how do you retain the staff? I just hope they finally put out some season sets or blu rays or something, I'd buy them.

You'd think DC/Warner would want to more closely match their cartoon properties with their movie properties. GL came out way after the movie (which might have been a blessing), and this Batman centered cartoon is coming out way after the last Nolan film. Hopefully they're gearing up for some Justice League stuff. Even though it veered wildly from the comics and shoehorned Cyborg in, I thought the direct to disc animated movie Justice League: Doom was pretty good, and seemingly used some of the same character designs as Young Justice.

My other thought was that they wanted to work the new 52 designs/universe into their other properties, which leaves me a bit cold...

I have no interest in the new Batman, especially now that after the theater shooting, they went back and took all the guns and made them look more like laser shooters, as well as turned the gun effects in to more non-violent laser effects a la "Spider-Man: The Animated Series." I don't care for more non-violent nonsense.

-rolleyes- From the DC NATION Facebook page:

Thank you to all our fans for expressing just how much they love DC Nation on Cartoon Network. There's still more new Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series to enjoy in the coming weeks. And DC Nation isn't going anywhere; there will be plenty of new adventures coming your way later this year.

It would be nice if they put out a complete series on BD for fans of the show.

I know that's a pipe dream at best but I would buy the set in a heartbeat.

I'd also wish they'd make DTV movies that continue the series.

I don't think that has any chance of happening, at all.

Yeah, it seems like only animated show to get it a blu-ray was Wolverine and the X-Men.

Yeah but with DC's library of animated stuff on DVD/BD you would think this would be on the schedule.

Re: Young Justice League Animated Series in the works

I'm not going to hate on the shows coming down the pipeline. The new Batman and TT shows don't seem like they're going to be for me, but they could be good. Look at the reaction to Batman: The Brave and the Bold before people saw how fun that was.

That said, I am really bummed to be losing out on YJ. I thought JLU was as good as a DC cartoon was ever going to get, but YJ has been exceptional, and I feel has become every bit the equal of JLU. I will miss it when it's gone, but I hope the team behind the show had enough time to put a bow on the various story arcs that are going on.

Oh that Lex Luthor, always with his own agenda. Interesting to learn Blue Beetle was basically brainwashed back into helping the reach, despite miss martian reading green beetle's mind, which said that he was good and helping them.

She didn't really control that interaction, though. The Green Beetle "let her in". So he obviously only showed her what he wanted her to see.

Interesting that the blue beetle's scarab wasn't really fond of the Reach, but is now seemingly in control and yet compliant with them.

I like how they at least reference why other team members aren't able to get there in time (Flash and Impulse preoccupied). I also thought it was interesting how the Reach's soda was going to make the human populace compliant over generations (although I think that was fed to the by Green Beetle, so who knows?).

How many episodes are left? I don't have full confidence that they'll be able to wrap all this up... there's a lot of plot left.

Also, did they ever finish that Amethyst short?

Holy shit. Mongul. That was a tight episode. Nice to finally see the real Justice League. Yet another fuck you to Cartoon Network for canceling this show.
