Heroes -- "The Wall" -- 02/01/10

<a href="http://s110.photobucket.com/albums/n104/djariya/?action=view&current=Heroes.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n104/djariya/Heroes.jpg" border="0" alt="Heroes"></a>

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Peter's visions of Emma in peril lead him to try to save Sylar; Samuel tells Claire about her father's past in order to further manipulate her; and Lauren makes a risky move to help bring down Samuel.

This is episode 18. Next week is the season and possibly series finale. Although I read the synopsis and since these episodes were taped months ago before the ratings went into the toilet:

Spoiler:
It does not sound like episode 19 ends with any closure.

No shock here. But this time, after this season, I'm pretty sure I'm through. I really enjoyed the trailer for this season and stupidly enough, thought it had potential. They found multiple ways to ruin another season.

In it until the [bitter] end!

Didn't this show already hit the wall long ago?

The ratings have sucked since last season and most people in this forum have hated it creatively since the season 1 finale. Plus, the ratings dropped to all-time lows in the last 2-3 weeks. 2 weeks ago it was below 4M viewers. I will be astonished if NBC renews this for a 5th season.

The Sylar-Peter stuff was boring.

So now Noah's a serial killer, his marriage was a sham for the company, and he was a used car salesman married to another chick before his current family? Weak... weak... weak...

Oh, and now Avalance is going to New York. I guess he read Linderman's old copy of Watchmen.

Sylar-Peter stuff was more interesting than the rest of the episode imo.

<--- is wondering how Mohinder, Hiro, and Tracy will jump in and save the day.

Tracy will...
Spoiler:
slide through the cracks as water and help Claire and UCS (Used-Car Salesman) get out.

Hiro will...
Spoiler:
transport them all to NYC.

Mohinder will...
Spoiler:
narrate the obvious.

:)

Here's the thing though, the show is just another dozen episodes away from being perfect for syndication sales (not to mention that the DVDs somehow still sell like hotcakes). NBC is in a really weird bind right now having to fill 5 10pm slots ontop of filling in the every growing holes in its current schedule, I wouldn't be surprised if NBC gives the show a 13-episode order and puts it on somewhere on friday.

I hope NBC at least lets them make a couple more episodes to wrap up the story. Nothing worse then a series that ends on a cliffhanger that is never resolved due to cancellation.

How could this be resolved? There's no story. Nothing to wrap up, in my opinion.

The magic 100 number for syndication is irrelvent these days. One, things aren't syndicated anymore, they're sold to cable networks. Two, serialized programs like Heroes or Lost don't do well in syndication. If anything, reruns will show up on SyFy or USA.

Agreed that the most likely reason for NBC to keep it on the sked is to fill up the five hours they've opened up with Leno in primetime flopping.

It does not appear they can just tie everything up in the next episode, it will need one more season to completely finish everything. I am enjoying the show, Sam is powerful unless someone just........shots him? It really would not take all that much. *Sigh*

I actually dozed off a few times during this ep. SIGH--- At least the HRG flashback stuff was kinda cool.

I think there is a lot to wrap up. You still want to see all the heroes come together in one big battle or unite in some common purpose to maybe help or save humanity and the greater meaning of their powers.

I hope it gets another season. Still sucks when the season finale is in Feb and not April or May.

Easy to wrap up ...... carnival goes away, they all decide to go under the radar and live amongst us unnoticed - and hopefully no longer on TV.

Dude, are you trying to summon Mway Opezlay to the thread? Be careful!

I don't see how a guy who can make like half a dozen copies of himself can stop two of the most powerful guys on earth. Hell, even if he could make a million copies.

I kept waiting for some type of Pink Floyd reference.

I just read through this thread, and I can't even begin to say how happy I am that my DVR got backed up and I had to cut something from my viewing to stay caught up. This series seems like it's just completely off the rails and not even worth the time to watch it.

Thanks, guys, for taking one for the team and letting the rest of know what's going on!

So they've attempted to "redeem" Sylar in a half a day (one show)? What have they been doing with him the rest of the season?

I guess I sort of enjoyed this one. Claire and T-Bag were kept to sort of a minimum. The stuff in Sylar's mind was at least a bit interesting, and I liked the Noah flashbacks.

Peter just needs to touch him and copy his power. Then he can keep him busy while Sylar goes to the rescue.

i actually enjoyed the episode.

the peter/sylar scenes didn't bore me. i was just scratching my head at how quickly sylar is "good" (again).

I thought this was a pretty good episode, all things considered. The back and forth crap with Claire being pissed and then not pissed at her dad was terrible but the flashbacks themselves were great. Sylar/Peter stuff was cool which hopefully will lead to no more Sylar is a bad guy crap and they can focus on some other sort of villain if there's a next season. Had they just stuck with that last season, the Samuel dynamic would have had genuine tension.

i enjoyed the flashbacks as well.

If 1 hour our time means 1 year in Sylars head, and Peter said they were out for half a day, they were 'together' for 12 years. Plenty of time to go good.
