While I was glad to see things pick up once the doctor got pumped with a few rounds, the episode leading up to that point was pretty boring, even as set-up material, or that truly life-less Dana Walsh subplot.

I liked this episode. Yes, not explosive, but for some reason I was really entertained.
I will admit that this season seems to have more weak subplots than season six. More filler than I can handle. Then the scene goes back to Renee in a towel and I forget all about that.
Loved Jack's glasses. Kinda wish he tried a German accent. Woulda been funny. I thought the sick son was gonna bite his father and infect his father. Nope, guess not. Harlow is really funny. I like that character.

I didn't hate this episode, but I didn't really like it either. Honestly, I was pretty bored for the 1st 40+ minutes. I think the episode didn't really pick up until Jack and Cole began their deal with Vlad's men. I loved Jack's Harry Potter glasses. Plus, wasn't it fucking awesome to see Jack light one up? I know Kiefer is a chain smoker, so he was probably ecstatic to finally smoke on 24. That was pretty badass when Cole took out Vlad's men. Jack speaking Americanized German was pretty funny as well.
It's funny how I'm pretty much only talking about less than 10 minutes worth of content on this episode.
I love Renee to death, but it's getting a little frustrating with her being a scared weakling around Vlad. I hope it's all part of the cover/act and that she will beat the shit out of him in a future episode.
BTW, I had to chuckle when Chloe was talking to Arlo and mentioned her ass and then camera panned down to her ass as she walked away.
Overall I would probably give this episode a C

I don't understand the complaints, they're setting up for a good storyline now that "Mir"'s killed most of Vlad's men. Rene took one for the team, although they really didn't play on it very much once she went dark. Seeing Chloe put Arlo back in his place was about the only moment I've enjoyed with her since season 4-5. Less Chloe is definitely the way to go. And I'm really hoping Dana's arranging for redneck ex to get busted during this operation.

It wasn't an action-packed episode, but it did its job in keeping me entertained. Plus, after the explosive beginning to S6 yielded what it did, I'm more than happy to give a season with a seemingly slow-burning beginning a chance. Yes, the Katee Sackhoff stuff is rather crappy, but they call it filler for a reason. And, knowing 24, it's probably a setup for something bigger so I'm fine with it. Besides, after putting up with the Angel/LaGuerta crap on Dexter that went no where (a TV show with 12 episodes shouldn't even need filler, if you ask me), I can easily put up with this.

So are we to believe that Renee and Vlad had sex? In the span of less than 5 minutes she went from the bathroom to apparently naked in bed while Vlad was walking around. Hey, all of us menfolk can be a little quick sometimes, but that's crazy. Or were they going to do the deed, but were interrupted by Jack Potter?
