Re: Buffy on the Logo network, why???

I think they showed Wonderfalls because the sister of the main character was a lesbian, so Buffy just for Willow and her lovers makes sense to me.

Do they air One Life To Live, Ugly Betty, Deep Space Nine (two episodes) and The O.C.?

Plus it's a strong female lead.

That was a pretty major storyline, though. Willow's whole sexual awakening, really.

And don't forget Andrew!

Was it a good series and people in general enjoy it? Seems reason enough to me.

Buffy is one of those series that has an incredible gay following, like Glee.

MTV's been running Halloween: Resurrection and Candyman every weekend for the past month. When it comes to cable programming, anything goes these days.

Or the first few seasons of Smallville. I remember an article that viewed the Clark/Lex dynamic as an allegory for the first inclinings of a gay romance.

They did a musical. What could be gayer?

I refuse to believe that anything associated with Neil Patrick Harris could be gay!

Why? Because Logo paid for the syndication rights. End of thread.

My personal favorite is the TV guide channel now running sitcoms during their listings, haha.

Not the end of thread, that IS the thread and the question asked by the op, why.

Re: Buffy on the Logo network, why???

Q: Why is Bravo running episodes of House? ...when House reruns are already available on USA and FOX.

A: Because House is a a popular show that Bravo hopes will draw viewers to the channel.

BUFFY reruns have been off cable for years. I don't know why.

It's a good show with a lot of episodes. It has a loyal fan following, and it has enough cultural cache to draw curious new viewers.

The Willow/Tara relationship is LOGO's justification for showing on the channel, but the reason they are showing it is because they hope it will draw viewers to the channel.

I wonder how many people like me, who never watched LOGO, visited the channel for the first time when they spotted BUFFY in the listings?

Re: Buffy on the Logo network, why???

What should LOGO be airing if not Buffy? I think that's the more interesting question, and I'm serious in asking it. I haven't paid much attention to them other than Buffy and before that Wonderfalls.

Actually, the creator Ryan Murphy is openly gay as well, so who knows, maybe we might see it on Logo if the show goes for many years

What does Ryan Murphy have to do with Giles being gay? Going after Popular, Glee, or Nip/Tuck on this basis I could see. Giles being gay? Not following how Ryan Murphy figures in that.
