Dollhouse-"Getting Closer" 1/8/10
Didn't see any other threads and did a search. Don't know where to find the photo that is normally posted, so we'll just have to go with the bare minimum.
All I can say from this ep. so far is that had this series started the season being as gripping as it is now, it wouldn't be getting yanked.

Thanks for starting the thread. So glad Amy Acker is back, for at least this episode. I was surprised to see Dominic back during the last episode, but him getting himself out of the attack this episode shocked me even more. He's a great character; I hope we see him again before the show is completely over. It's also nice to see some background on Caroline and Bennett and what their relationship entailed and how they were originally involved in the Dollhouse.
"...or possibly Tron given the outfits." - Topher
Whedon & Co. have developed the best "Cultural Reference Character" since Andrew Wells with Topher Brink. I lost it when he said "Stay back! I've imprinted myself with many different skills...You don't even wanna know!" The line "I had a crush on you even when I thought you were a dude...This is much better" was great. Sad to see her go like that right in front of Topher's eyes; his reaction was pretty heartbreaking too...although it is nice to see him feeling. His scene with Ivy was tough too...not wanting her to become him; pretty sad.
You could tell Saunders/Whiskey was acting strange...somewhere in between the Doctor Personality and the Doll State; once she started asking the questions about whether Bennett was sure she could bring back Caroline you knew Bennett was done for.
It was nice to see them restoring all the Actives' original personalities and releasing them. Great to see Victor and Sierra running off together too.
Wow. I totally didn't see that reveal coming, even when he took out the guy that was about to kill Echo. How is Boyd one of the heads of Rossum and the Dollhouse? They totally just threw a curve ball. Seriously, I have no idea what is going on, other than him wanting to bring down the Dollhouse I guess? Wish they were still doing double-episode burn-offs because I really can't wait to see how this plays out.

This episode was awesome. I'm loving how the story is twisting and turning. Was sad to see Bennett go. I really like her relationship with Topher. The kiss was just cute with all of the "ouches"
Can't wait to see

Wow. I really, really hope the Boyd twist has been planed from the beginning and isn't something they are pulling out of their ass since the show was canned. The Bennett ending was crazy shocking. I just wish they had had Glau for another episode or two so the Topher relationship didn't seem so forced.

Unfortunately so.
Hypocritical FCC bastards.
Same goes for feature films - Blow someone's limbs off, that's fine. Talk about "ass to mouth" (Clerks 2) and that's a hard "R" rating right there, or even NC-17.

That was one of the most graphic headshots I've ever seen, let alone on TV.
This show is just so fucking good right now. I wish people would have stuck with it. And no, I don't think they needed to do it sooner. Everything has been building to this, and I'm glad they took their time.

Just finished my DVR.
My jaw is still in my lap. Whedon knows how to get you attached to characters and then rip them away from you while turning a character you thought you liked into the epitome of evil. I'll give him that. I wonder if we'll see Alpha emerge one last time?
I always had a feeling something was up with Whiskey, but never knew what. Still a lot of questions left unanswered, but I'm sure I will get them soon. I have to say that aside from the opening eps., both seasons of Dollhouse have proven solid (wish this series had started its seasons like it ends them). I will definitely get a Blu-Ray set if they ever offer the whole series in one package.

That was a crazy episode. I never saw the Boyd reveal coming and didn't think Bennett would be taken out like that. Episodes like these make it all the more painful that it was cancelled.

I don't get the love for this episode. I thought it was all over the place, rushed (for obvious reasons), and other than the Glau headshot, pretty bad. Two more episodes and we can put this abortion behind us.

I think the problem that I have is that they made characters that I actually liked the "bad guys" so I could root for Echo and Ballard. Uh...ok.
