Nice opening graphics!
Sam Bee looks a little older with the HD! But still good.
Colbert made more use of the new HD in his intro. Overall a massive improvement.

Comcast in Chicago doesn't carry Comedy Central in HD, so I didn't get to see the really cool things to Colbert's far left and far right.

Got a notice from Time Warner here in Austin they are adding Comedy Central to the standard HD lineup on the 22nd this month. So a little while longer for us. We're also getting Cartoon network in HD, so here's to hoping Metalocalypse finally gets played in HD.

The only content they had before this was slim (movies, South Park... I think that's it) so it's a definite improvement to get both the Report and Daily Show in HD.
The only network I can think of that's even slimmer for HD choices in G4... but that's even been improving lately (movies... and most of their pretaped original content)
Oh, and you didn't miss much on the HD gag... it was:

My comcast has Comedy Central HD. The schedule is different from SD, though. When Stewart was on SD at 11, Colbert was on in HD, and then neither was on HD latenight like they are in SD. So I missed the stuff on the sides too.

Does this really surprise anyone? Colbert is a caricature and the entire show. Stewart is the straight-man on his show.
Anything that affects The Colbert Report, affects Colbert. He owns the change.

Colbert was hilarious on Wed-01/06's show when he gave the finger with both hands to cable networks that aren't showing his show in HD, but with each hand just in the extra space on each side that's only seen in Hi-Def.

Ack! I didn't know they'd be broadcasting the rally live. And it doesn't seem like they'll be re-broadcasting it either. I would've totally TIVOed it had I known, as it would've been easier to sit through and fast forward rather than watching it online, which I can't stand doing. Oh well...
