Dish Network 1 cents cinemax until 2010 question

Sorry I couldn't find the old thread about if you are a Dish Network customer back sometimes in 2008 or maybe early 2009 that you could get Cinemax for 1 cents a month and expires in January 2010.

When I saw this thread, I've called and so have been getting Cinemax and its associated channels. (But never was charged the 1 cents a month).

I sort of recall that this deal ends in January 2010 (correct me if I'm wrong).

My question is do you have to call to cancel or will they cancel whenever the deal expires?

Also, do anyone have this deal but not charged the 1 cents a month? My bill only shows the programming package charges and taxes.

Thanks.

It's one cent per year.

My guess is that it will not be continued and if you don't cancel it by January you will be charged the regular fee of $13 per month. Of course, when you cancel it, you'll be charged a $5 programming downgrade fee.

That promotion was great, having five Cinimax stations and a DVR meant that I always had movies that I wanted to watch recorded and waiting for me, but it's not worth $13 per month to me. I have a Redbox nearby and only watch maybe one movie per week.

Re: Dish Network 1 cents cinemax until 2010 question

Thanks for the info.

Only 1 cents for the whole year? What a deal. I thought it was 1 cent a month. I guess that is why I didn't see any charges lately.

Haven't received any mail yet though (maybe because I use their autopay with paperless billing?)

One question, on your billing statement, does it show anything about the Cinemax package? Mine's doesn't show anything at all.

Thanks for all your sharing and help. This forum rocks!

Got the letter today saying it will end and lapse unless I continue.

Thanks Deke Rivers.

If I received the letter, I threw it away thinking it was junk mail.

I just rented out my old house, the one with the Dish Network setup, so I called to reduce the programming to the family package ($31 including DVR fee). I asked about the Cinemax promotion and was told that it will end automatically on January 11, 2010.

Mine's is still on and next month bill doesn't show any "extra" charges.

Is anyone's still getting "free" Cinemax? Or maybe it'll end at the end of the month?
