Less repeats this year or am I crazy?

My unwatched pile of DVD's is stacking up because I have no time to watch them! It seems all the shows I watch are new each week! Usually by now we have a couple of repeat weeks thrown in. Are most series following the Lost and 24 recipe?

It's November so very few shows will go into re-runs in November sweeps. Most shows will end up in early December and take a 4-5 week break over the holidays so you can work the DVD pile then

No, they are following the usual pattern. about 10 episodes air before the Holidays, repeats, then they return in January for 3-4 episodes, take a break here and there and then run through May sweeps.

Yep. I think you're misremembering, mrsnickers.

Usually. I bet the networks change it up this season for the Olympics though. ABC has already admitted as much with Lost.

I thought most shows throw a repeat or 2 in October before Nov. sweeps but maybe seasons are starting later than they used to, so they don't want to do repeats after only 3-4 new episodes.

It seems like the more serialized programs don't repeat, but sitcoms and procedurals still do.

Mr. Snickers or Mrs. Nickers? If the latter, pics? If the former, welcome to my ignore list!

Yes, I believe there are fewer repeats this year.

Of course November is sweeps and there would be no repeats, but usually around late October there would be a couple of weeks of repeats, but this year it didn't happen (not like in years past).

I also thought there were fewer repeats this year. For example, I know Smallville has been going straight with new episodes (through this week) and then a 9 week break until Feruary. I believe in the past it's only been 5-6 and then a week or two break and then a few more.

I think networks may be sampling the approach other networks have taken by breaking seasons into two halves and run them straight.

You are right about Smallville, not one repeat yet (??).

And I would rather have it this way. Show a block of new episodes and if they go into repeats for 3 or more weeks that is okay with me.
