"V" -- New Series -- "There Is No Normal Anymore" -- 11/10/09

V 2

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Erica and Father Jack, having quickly determined they're both against the arrival of the Visitors, suddenly find themselves being tracked by a "Seeker" from the V's. Meanwhile Chad, thinking he blew it for 80 million viewers with his exclusive first interview with Anna, looks to pick himself up and so becomes more investigative in his next newscast; and Dale Maddox's (Alan Tudyk) wife and law enforcement begin questioning Erica about his whereabouts.

Looking forward to seeing how they follow up the Pilot. Damn, only 2 more left after tonight until the break.

I read an article that said they just wrapped production on episode 4 last week.

With all the reveals last week, I feel like I'm tuning in to the Season 2 Premiere tonight.

Re: "V" -- New Series -- "There Is No Normal Anymore" -- 11/10/09

Is anyone else having problems with ABC's audio? I've noticed it on a few other shows as well, but it's rather prevalent tonight. There appears to be a "break" in the audio every two or so seconds. It is not only quite annoying, but it is making it difficult to understand fully what is being said.

EDIT: I am currently watching this via a Motorola DVR from Comcast.

I noticed the volume here was really low and when a commercial hit the volume was so much louder since I had to raise the volume.

I'm glad to know this wasn't just my imagination.

I had a few sound issues on DIRECTV tonight. This episode was a little slow.

i just don't buy Scott Wolf as a person, let alone a news reporter.

LOL! He looks so much like Lee Adama from Battlestar Galactica and I just can't get past the fact that Jamie Bamber would have been much more convincing in this roll.

That said, I'm enjoying this far more than I thought I would. It had stellar numbers last week (ABC has been advertising 18 million viewers, I think, which must include DVRs), and I'm interested to see where it stands after the drop-off from the premiere.

The only story line I don't like is the 90210-ish son. They had a character like this in the original V, but this isn't near as convincing. Not only are his scenes ripped out of an overdone teenage drama, but I'm not sold that this shy kid who can hardly talk to the visitor chick would haul off and punch the leader of an entire group of bullies that look older than him. Ah well.

PS Bad sound issues for me, too, tonight on regular cable. I think it must be ABC.

Re: "V" -- New Series -- "There Is No Normal Anymore" -- 11/10/09

I totally called Alan Tudyk as a dream sequence in the scene they showed in the preview last week. Then we get to the end of the episode...oh well, I was close

I'm enjoying this show, and this may sound strange, but it needs a bigger cast. Right now we are following Elizabeth Mitchell a lot and I'm not getting a real sense of a "global" event happening here. I know there are other characters but I guess I'm just looking for a larger group working together. I guess we'll see how things go. I'm glad the ratings are good though, too bad they'll tank after the Olympic break.

Yeah I'm diggin' this series. I am left wanting more by the time the 'On Next week's V' promo rolls.

For me the only weak part of this show so far is the Agent's Son and Supergirl. I just don't care.

I'm pretty sure there's some more cast members from other fanboy-followed TV series they can hire.

They already have Lost, Firefly, 24, Smallville, The 4400 and Battlestar Galactica covered. Who's next?

I thought the ep. was OK. The teenage boy/Supergirl storyline is weak and Elizabeth Mitchell's rosy red cheeks were a little too much, but eh, it's only the second ep out of 4, so I'll stick with it for now.

i was excited for this...but it's terribly cheesy. and they just moved WAY too fast into the whole "resistance" thing....it was just ZOMG ALIENS ARE EVERYWHERE!!! WHAT DO WE DO? HEY! LET'S FORM A RESISTANCE!!!

lame. and i agree with scott wolf completely, why he is on tv is hard to fathom....

The reporter story would be a lot more compelling if they had a non-panzy in the part.

You would watch 3 episodes of a 4 episode run?

I'm going to guess that they are speeding up the story line to move past the basics plot points people might know from the original series... So that the story has a chance to get into some new ground..

so far I like the show.. I'd rather have them move quickly then string out a plot rehash from the early series over the course of 4+ eps. Picture if they did not show the V's as lizards in the first ep but debated if they were or not for like 3 eps then Ohhhhhhhhhh ep 4 for we find out they ARE lizards!!

That's not really going to work on a remake of an older show.

I share the same sentiments; there are a lot of things that I think are going to happen because of the original series, but end up in a different direction which has me hooked. And along those same lines, I am interested as to whether Rekha Sharma is a V sleeper or if the team head is one, simply because of the BSG angle.

It's technically a 4 episode Fall run. They are producing 13 episodes, but episodes 5-13 (which haven't even been filmed yet) won't air until March.

They haven't actually confirmed any more episodes. ABC was waiting to see how these 4 episodes do first.

They originally planned 13 episodes, but I don't think ABC was very confident after seeing the first 4, so they stopped production for now.

Elizabeth Mitchell has the weirdest gait when she walks on this show.

I don't mind Scott Wolf so much in this, but it bugs me that he's a dead on carbon copy of Michael J. Fox in Mars Attacks.
