Nice blindside, now Laura needs to go.

I'll admit i haven't watched every season of survivor, but I have watched most.

I don't remember another season where 3 very attractive women have made it this far in the game. Monica (who's my favorite and i grow more in love with every show), Kelly, and Natalie are making this season fun to watch. :)

Btw, lets not forget Ashley and Marisa (who i can't wait to see at the reunion). This season hit the spot for me.

Agreed. I had a very strong feeling Laura was going to win immunity. The plan to give her the boot was going way too smooth. I would love to see her get the boot soon. Don't like her.

Didn't Shambro get a heads-up that everyone was voting for Eric?

But she didn't pass this info on to Eric?

I was also surprised that Russel did not implement a backup plan in case Laura won immunity. I think he was unprepared for the shift from the 2 tribe game, where your voting plans will work no matter what, they may just be delayed if your team wins immunity, to the single game where you MUST have a backup plan if you are strategizing before the immunity challenge. It will be interesting to see if he can learn from this week and add the backup plan to his strategy.

This was the best episode so far this season. I loved the complete chaos that occured after the IC. I think this is partially due to merging with so many people (12 with an enormous Galu vs Foa Foa lead), its usually at 9 or 10 right? Hopfully these dynamics will keep the game just as interesting for the rest of the season.

It has varied, but it's almost always at 10 or fewer. This may be the largest merge they've ever had. And I was surprised they said the jury started last night. That should make this the largest jury also--of 9.

It's very likely Laura might not have gone had she lost immunity and the Russell and John confessionals were them blowing hot air without the actual numbers.

No. She was in the dark and voted for Jaison.

Fiji and Cook Islands had a jury of 9. But this is the largest merge.

Nobody told her. She probably would have told him people were voting for him. I like her but she's really too naive for this game.

Edit: wasn't there a scene where someone told her people were voting for Eric and she went 'who's Eric? oh our Eric?!'

CBS likes to use misdirection to keep the audience guessing. It is quite possible that Russell is not going so the episode ends up being a big surprise.

I've also noticed that there has never been one single vote that was a lockin for someone. CBS always shows some footage that makes you think it could be someone else going home.

It's not over till it's over. Russell could win immunity or something else shifts the game. I wouldn't have predicted Eric. He seemed pretty secure.

While a backup plan is always a good idea, in a 12 person merge with individual immunity the norm, Laura winning immunity would be quite the long shot. Only when competing against the other women does she actually look like a strong competitor.

That was such a stupidly random challenge. Points should have been based on how far you hit the ball and there shouldn't have been an out of bounds at the back. That should have been worth the most points.

Agreed. Right before the IC, I paused the show, and told my wife "Laura's going to win immunity" and she, being a newly minted Survivor fan asked "Why is that?"

I answered "CBS wouldn't have wasted all that time and editing showing how smoothly the Laura plan came to be...not with more than a half hour left in the show. And they sure as hell wouldn't show us the guaranteed outcome of TC with so much time left".

Funny how you become tuned into the whole editing process after watching awhile. Course I didn't see the Erik thing coming...but again, the editing made him out to be quite the dick in TC...and we know what that usually means.

That's my assumption as well. I will be completely shocked if he goes. The show is getting boring now that they aren't changing up the editing in any way.

It was the editing (showing so much of setting her up for the downfall) and when I saw the women were competing against each other. The way it seemed etched in stone that Laura would get the axe. I started thinking I'll bet she wins immunity and screws up that plan.

Yes. She did say "Who's Eric? Our Eric?" I forgot who told her, but it's a classic example of how out of the loop she is. She didn't warn Eric and still voted with him for Jaison.

I would much rather challenge be based on skill and touch, like it was, than purely on who is the strongest.
