If you have Time Warner Cable with the Primetime on Demand channel, they just added Mad Men.
The last six episodes are available.

January Jones is hosting SNL on the 14th. Odd timing considering it's the week after the finale.

Well... Taylor Swift seems to keep getting delayed. That's probably just me but it feels like we were talking about her being on weeks ago.

Anyway... can't wait for this show. I'm sad it's ending. But I can't wait to see Betsy on SNL.

Great episode. Really good job capturing a mood.

Betty dropping the bomb on Don at the end should make for a great finale.

Re: Mad Men - "The Grown-Ups" - 11/01/09

Ever since Roger's daughter's wedding date was revealed early in the season, I was wondering how that day would pan out for these characters.

Lane has pushed Peter to his limit, perhaps.

Peggy and Duck...rolling eyes material for me.

Don's having some rough weeks, his home life crumbling around him.

We finally see a smile from Betty, maybe she really is ready to kick Don to the curb and move on.

Roger finds himself a man who can't really connect to his young wife, looks backwards towards Joan.

Funny thing was that when that episode aired, the show-runners insisted that they wouldn't really address Kennedy's assassination much, if at all. And yet here we are. I guess they don't like spoiling stuff, as was apparent in the teaser for next week's finale which was just clips from previous episodes.

The grass is always greener, Betty. The grass is always greener.

Yeah, I was quite surprised at how heavily they incorporated it into the show. Well done though.

at Duck unplugging the tv so he could get some action first.

I think Betty found her match with the politician...another person with zero fucking personality.

Agreed on both counts. I think the only character I'm less interested in than Betty is Henry.

I gotta admit - Betty is a pretty damn boring woman. If it weren't for her incredible looks, with her zero personality, she'd struggle to find a husband.

I think it has more to do with the actress than the character. If Christina Hendricks for example played Betty, I think the character would have more of a pulse.

Ashton?*

*There was a mention in Entertainment Weekly a few weeks back that Ashton Kutcher had advised January Jones to quit acting when they dated several years ago.

Great episode.

I have to ask, was JFK dying really, that big of a deal to everyone?

I think Betty is great and January Jones a great actress. She's been in bitchy mood ever since she found out she was pregnant. That one scene a season or two back, where she's shooting the birds made me fall in love with her.

I've only heard what my parents have told me, and what I've heard from them was yes. Like 9/11 type of big.

^^^ yes. My mom has always told me how everyone was glued to their TV sets and how shocking it was when Lee Harvey Oswald got shot right on live television.

I have always heard that moment signaled sort of an end to innocence, it was like a turning point from the sweet 50's/early 60's era to the later, tumultuous 60's that followed. I wonder if this event will signal a shift in tone for the series as well?

Re: Mad Men - "The Grown-Ups" - 11/01/09

Thankfully we got some action with Pete. I may be one of the few to think this, but he is probably the most interesting character on the show and I was waiting for something to happen over the past few episodes with him.

I am tired of Duck and he better just be playing Peggy to make the storyline at all interesting in the future - next season? Will she get pregnant again?

I'm glad Mad Men is going on for a longer time period but I don't like the 10/13 episode contract deal. I want Sal and Joan back entirely (not to mention more Pete of course) and I want more interaction at the office between the guys. Change is good, of course, but the contract deal is causing it to go overboard. And, yes, January Jones needs to be a part of that 10/13 episode deal - if it has to be.

I remember what a big deal it was when Reagan was shot and that wasn't serious. And it wasn't just that he died - he was assassinated...first time it had happened in 60 years. And it took place in the age of television. So yes, that big of a deal.
