I really enjoyed this one as well. Getting the families to integrate more was a big plus. The diaper shed have me

I'm out..

Just does not work for me. I thought the kid jumping with the box on his head was funny, but I can't relate to these people and the show is not clicking for me.

The Father is like they said "let's take the Michael Scott character from the office and make him a father."

There's signs that this could be a very good, very clever show.

My 2 favorite characters are Phil and Ed O'Neill. Funny show.

What bothers me is: Sofia Vergara is such a hot woman, but her pounds and pounds and pounds of makeup make her look like an absolute clown.

This is officially my favorite new show of the season. So far it's really good with the potential to be great. There doesn't seem to be a weak link in the entire cast.

I loved the opening scene with the trash bag. Why can't women wait until a fucking commercial? Is it that big of a deal if the trash goes out in 15 minutes?

I think he was miming playing piano, as in "Play it again, Sam."

^^This

I loved Phil's "I was in a plane crash!".

Liked the Costco bit, even though it was easy to see it coming. I especially liked the "diaper shed".

I'm really enjoying this show. I have given up on the rest of the ABC comedy shows surrounding it, but I am sticking with this one.

I'm liking this show. This is the first sitcom since 30 Rock I've liked enough to watch.

I really think the show is slowly starting to hit on all cylinders.

I noticed that, too. Like Michael, he tries too hard but I guess that's supposed to be a part of his charm.

As a huge fan and shopper of Costco, the direction of that storyline was obvious. When I left my last job, my co-workers got me a Costco gift card. I can’t tell how many times I gone in to buy a single item and walked out with a hundred dollars receipt.

Technically, I think he said that adding step means that it’s not real. Also liked how Sofia’s dropped the step at the end of the conversation with the youngest daughter. It’s those little nuances that are going to make me continue to tune in.

Manny stole the episode, but I also liked how Julie Bowen’s character wiped away Manny’s milk mustache and the strange look on his face as she was pouring coffee (???) in his glass.

Fashion Fantasy Game

Does anyone here play the Fashion Fantasy Game? I heard that people who like Modern Family tend to play FFG. I'm looking for tips on designing.

A bump for spam? tsk tsk...

Might as well comment though since I watched the first season on DVD. Shame on all of you dumping the show. I wonder if any of you came around since MF became the "belle of the ball" on tv these days.

I actually stopped watching; the jokes and style became too repetitive. The "lesson of the week" portion didn't help matters. It's the type of comedy that seems great and unique until you watch other shows and realize the retread factor.

Wow. I don't think we're watching the same show. I think MF repeatedly takes the "retread factor" and makes it work.

One of the few shows that makes me laugh out loud on a regular basis...

And is there a lesson in every episode? I haven't noticed. Too busy laughing, I guess.

There's usually a heartfelt end to each episode. I wouldn't call it a lesson though. It's more like the ending to Scrubs episodes except MF doesn't seem to use it as much.

MF has a last second warm and fuzzy moment each week. It doesn't bother me, though I'd love to have them end an episode Always Sunny in Philadelphia-style -- no lesson learned, arguing, then agreeing it'd be better to do something worse to someone else.

There's a difference between heartwarming and lesson learned though.

True, though most of the "heartwarming" moments come from realizations that their family is critical to their success. It just isn't super preachy so it's hardly worth mentioning.

Yeah we're not exactly talking about "cue the light piano music at the 22 minute mark" of Full House.
