A lot of good dancers at Salt Lake City, as expected. Between SLC and New Orleans I think we'll have a good show!
As for the girl who had her toenail ripped off, I was watching her performance while cringing because I knew what was going to happen. I didn't quite catch where she caught it though, she just did her routine then at the end said that her toenail was ripped off.

"Shake That Bubble" by Young & Divine
For future reference, this page is great for finding the music used in the show:
http://www.fox.com/dance/recaps/season6/
Just pick the episode and click the 'Song & Performance' tab and it lists all the songs and artists, and even describes what segment they were used in.

I dunno, he was so intense and did not make dancing looking easy in those 2 genres, I have no idea how he made it to the top 21 last year if he danced the way he did in Vegas this time around.

Wow, there is a lot of great talent this year!
The judges will have a hard time narrowing them down to the Top 20.
And that black crumper, who danced with the Lithuanian woman, the female part of world champian pairs ballroom dancer if I remember right, is my prediction to be the underdog this year. Kind of like how Phillip was the underdog last year.
Great link, thanks!

I had almost the same reaction to Billy Bell's solo as Adam did, that guy has a ridiculously high quality of movement to his dancing.
I had to look away when I knew that twisted ankle was about to happen, that looked gnarly.
At this point, the cuts are going to come down to star power because the 38 dancers left can all dance up a storm.

Great episode last night, there is some great talent out there.
That crumper from New Orleans - I'm sure he'll be in the Top 20, he is picking up the other styles very easily. The blond 18 year old girl from Salt Lake City - sorry, but she is still too young. I see what the judges say, she just doesn't look like an adult dancing, she looks like a kid dancing. I keep comparing her to Kayla from last season in my head and this new girl doesn't have the same amount of talent that Kayla did. Maybe in a year or two...
I wonder what they'll do with the Asian girl who had a bad sprain a day or two before the Top 20 were to be announced. She almost made the Top 20 last season but was one of the last girls cut so she has the talent, but will they advance somebody who sat out the last two days of Vegas because of an injury?
With regard to Billy Bell (the only reason I know his name is because of the post before mine) -- Top 20 for sure.
And the B-Boxer (?), yes, he's very good at what he does but I dont' see Top 20 material in him.
Anyway... next week they'll narrow down the people who are left to the Top 20.

When does the Top 20 start? I can't believe how long they are dragging out this season. It seems like American Idol with the never-ending audition shows.

Mia Michaels has left the show. I know she came across as kind of a bitch, but I thought she was a very articulate judge and gave solid criticism. Honestly, if this show never existed, I don't think anyone in the mainstream world would have known who she was.

I wonder what her reason for leaving was.
Was it because Adam Shankman got the permanent judge's seat? If so, that's rather petty of her.
Anyways, she'll find she can't live without the show and come back... or maybe return every once in awhile.
Maybe she'll turn up on next season's Dancing with the Stars?

From the way that the article was written, it sounds like she quit because Shankman was made permanent judge. I'll never forget her "butt dance" from last season (Evan and Randi). I even downloaded that song from iTunes, very catchy, "Koop Island Blues" if I remember right.
I personally think that they should have left the third judge as a revolving position.
And yes, the Top 20 begins the week after next. Then it will be shortened by one week at the end (Top 6 finalists rather than the Top 4 finalists). Why didn't they just start the Top 20 next week?

I won't really miss her as a judge, but I'll miss her choreography. I *hated* her choreography when I first started watching the show... she relied too much on that twitchy/jerky style in her early routines. But as the show has gone on, many of her routines have stood out as my favorites.

I will absolutely miss Mia, as many of her routines are favorites of mine! I also really like Adam Shankman, but Mia's choregraphy is more important to me than any 3rd judge. The rotating judge makes the show interesting. It allows us to learn more about their individual personalities, which can sometimes add to their choreography. Most of the guest judges are too much for weekly viewing, but entertaining in smaller doses.
Maybe I should just be glad they didn't make Debbie Allen or Little C permanent judges!

I think Shankman has been one of the best judges on the show, really giving good constructive criticism and I'm glad they've made him a permanent member of the panel... however I think Mia leaving the show is a huge loss and pretty unexpected, she JUST choreographed on SYTYCD Canada this past week, so I didn't see it coming.
