Entourage - "Murphy's Lie" - 8/16/09

"Murphy's Lie"
Spoiler:
Eric considers the management-company offer while trying to patch things up with Ashley after a Freudian slip. Ari finally gets Mrs. Ari to forgive him at home, but an appearance by Mrs. Klein tests his resolve at work. Drama tries to protect Jamie-Lynn from a disreputable network executive.

Ashley, Andrew's wife, Drama ... this episode was nothing but whiny women.

Vince making the sex tape while talking to Drama was the only good part -- and hopefully that will become a plot point that Eric has to address in his new job.

My thoughts exactly.

Good episode. Hopefully this is the last of Ashley. She's annoying. I don't mind when E is the center of attention on the show, I would just like it if they focused more on his career than his love life.

I liked the Drama storyline. Looks like they're setting up for him to be dropped from Five Towns. That will be hilarious.

I thought it was a good episode.

The Drama story line was funny - wonder how that will turn out.

Vince Drilling that girl and Drama saying "you need to stay there for another hour"

Re: Entourage - "Murphy's Lie" - 8/16/09

I was not high on this season, but the last 2 episodes were really good. Good story, good one liners, and I know I liked it when they leave you hanging a bit in the scenes for next week.

The theme of this year is all about lies and deceit, and who you should trust in this business and your personal life. They are all going through it right now, and their actions definitely have consequences. Drama did the right thing, and he may get canned agt work, and E did the wrong thing, and he is getting canned by his girl.

I am suprised how bad Jami Gertz was in that scene where she went ballistic, as she was always a pretty good actor. Heck, she did better acting in The Lost Boys!

I'm assuming Marla (Andrew's wife).

I'm surprised that TV exec decided to taunt Drama about intentions to fuck Jamie-Lynn in front of his secretary (I think she was watching). I wonder just how much stuff like that happens in Hollywood where people witness blatant acts such as sexual harassment and provocation of attacks and nothing gets mentioned?

Well I'm sure the show takes plenty of liberties. This is meant to be a guy's show after all.

Although I couldn't help but think how fast Ari would be hit with a lawsuit involving the agent that Andrew was banging, if this was real life.

I liked it, but it didn't feel like an Entourage episode at all. Too intense. I liked it though. I loved how Drama stood up for Turtle. Fuck that studio head guy. I hope nothing happens between him and Jamie.

Re: Entourage - "Murphy's Lie" - 8/16/09

It's been painful for me to sit through both this and Weeds this year. It's like the cable world doesn't want me to laugh anymore. Hopefully that all changes when Californication starts again.

Entourage has turned into the equivalent of a name-dropper. There are shitty cameos every week now that add nothing to the story but to say "Hey look, he's famous." And none of these celebrity cameos can act worth a shit, so they're that much more distracting. How hard could it possibly be to act like yourself?

And I don't even want to get started on Vince and his strut. Fuck.

Sorry for the rant, just had to get it off my chest. It's frustrating because I used to like this show so much.

Good episode. I'm hoping that Ashley isn't gone for good... I'm so sick of Sloan. I was really hoping it would be Sloan who finds out about Ashley and gets jealous.

Amen to that.

Drama was solid in this episode but also suspect he'll get the pink slip next week. Hope it won't jut be another series of failed interviews for him in the next few weeks though, at this point he's somewhat popular with the show, they should have him land a decent gig.

Steve Nash was as bad and wooden as Tom Brady last week. These cameos really suck.

Sick of Sloan? She's had about 5 minutes of screentime this entire season.

Good riddance to Ashley hopefully. One of the most annoying characters I've ever seen.

I've been watching the show from day one, so my perspective isn't limited to this season. I think Sloan is the only woman E's been in a relationship with until Ashley. She's never seemed to appreciate him, belittled his work, always puts him in a position to have to choose between his work/Vince and her. And she's a spoiled brat. Time for her to be sweating E for a change, rather than keeping him hung up on her aloof ass.

Don't mistake me for knocking the actress. I think she's great. I'm talking about the character.

I agree. Athletes seldom fare well when they do acting gigs, and they do even worse when they host Saturday Night Live.

He dated Kristin (girl with the gigantic tatas) in season 1 or 2.

I think other than that, it's only been Sloan and Ashley for a very short time.

I guess I've never seen Sloan like that. She's extremely attractive, rich and really liked him. It's a matter of opinion that she put him in a position between her and Vince. She wanted a relationship and didn't think E wanted to be serious as he was always hanging out with Vince and the guys. I think by the time you reach E's age (I'm about his age myself) it's about time to tone down the frathouse stuff and if your girlfriend is both hot and rich, all the better.
