Monk: The Final Season - Premiers 08/07/09

I for one am glad its going as its been downhill since season 4. However, they have picked it up last season so it should go out on a high note. I just saw a commercial for it and Sharona will be back (sometime during the season it seems). I hope Turturo comes back as well.

Im looking forard to it. Oddly enough, Psych too (but thats a different topic)as I really disliked it at first but last season really saved it.

This new episode is the first time ever that I accurately predicted what happened before Monk explained it at the end.

That Brady Bunch parody was filmed in widescreen! I liked the DVD menu for it.

Dang, I missed it. I also remember when I could hardly wait for the show to be aired. Now, I'm not really upset that I didn't catch it.

You didn't miss anything. I cannot wait until this show is put to rest. I read somewhere that this season is going to run all the way through and will be wrapped up by Christmas.

I think it would've been pretty cool if Marcia or Jan Brady played the killer, since it was a Brady Bunch-type show.

I just watched it on Hulu, I don't see why you can't do the same.

It was a good episode. I'm sad to see the show leaving after this season.

When Monk was watching the DVD of a TV show that was made in the 1970s, it was in widescreen on his TV screen. But shows made in the 1970s were not made in widescreen.

Nice catch! Worthy of Mr. Monk.

I really enjoyed the episode. Sad to see the show go, but I'm glad they knew this was the last season and everything can get wrapped up.

Here's to finally solving the case of Trudy's murder. Preferably at a pace faster than that of a dead snail.

Honestley, after 8? seasons, I don't care if he solves Trudy's murder anymore.

I still enjoy the show, but they have teased this so much that I honestly don't care much either. Maybe I will though as it gets closer to the finale.

This was probably the easiest case to solve ever. Seriously, I figured it out extremely early in the show. I hope that the Trudy thing is solved, preferably without the inclusion of Dale The Whale.

Trudy needs to be solved cause thats the premise of the show basically. It made him who he is. I dont mind Dale the Whale if its Curry again. I wouldnt mind him killing Monk at the end either Go out with a bang!

But dont bring that actress from the office to be Trudy... I hate her.

I don't like Hardin in that role either.

Finally saw the ep last night and it was the same ole boring stuff as any regular lazy season. Youd think knowing it was the last theyd bring the goods. The case was obvious as originally stated.

Though I did laugh alot when Monk told that little shit he becomes a crystal meth addict

The grown up kid with the vendetta against Perkins was Tony, the oldest kid (and ex-addict) from Blossom.

Yeah, I was hoping they's get away from the standard formula a bit, but maybe they'll feel more free to do so later in the season.

Pretty decent standard episode, and I quite enjoyed the dream sequence.

The last episode was pretty good. Though its pretty stupid/gimmicky that Monk kept calling the chick Trudy.

Has anyone confirmed the rumors that the season will run all the way without a break?

These past two episodes were painful. I deleted them after about ten minutes. They've done the twin thing to death on this show. It's really sad that they can't end the series on a high note. I only plan on watching the Sharona episode and the finale. They can keep the rest of it.

Oh yea, last weeks was a crap fest and annoyed the hell out of me. This weeks was pretty good though. Total throw away but fun. I saw your post before watching the episode and I was dreading that you were referring to a Trudy twin.

The worse thing was that moron Balfour. Best thing hes ever done is get shot in the horse face during 24.

I'd forgotten about the Trudy twin when I mentioned it. I was thinking about the twins in "Mr. Monk and the Airplane", "Mr. Monk Goes to Vegas" AND "Mr. Monk and the Bully". It's quite sickening that they've used this plot device FIVE times.

The last two weren't that bad. Not great though. I haven't seen every episode, so I don't remember any of the twin episodes except the Trudy one. Were those three you mention all twins of Monk? If so, that is a bit crappy.

In Mr. Monk and the Airplane and Mr. Monk Goes to Las Vegas, the murder victims were 'twins', yet they weren't related at all. Mr. Monk and the Bully was from last season, and the murderer was a twin sister. I don't like it when a long-running show does that type of episode once (and it's usually a sitcom), but 5 times is ridiculous.

In the episode from Friday, the guy being hit by the bus was supposedly a mobster, yet he was dressed just like Monk, and the two didn't have similar styles. I kind of cheered when I saw Monk get hit by a bus.

The 'Bully' episode is the only one that had a biological twin in it. The rest were coincidences.
