Re: EW's Top Unsolved Mysteries of Lost
Do we know who has played the part of Hanso in those Dharma videos? I know Jimmy Kimmel's a fan of the show and has contributed to the supplements on the DVD's, so I thought maybe it's him wearing a fake beard and glasses. I'm probably wrong, but I see a resemblance.

One question I have that I haven't seen asked is "Why was the Dharma Initiative still airdropping supplies to the island long after they lost control of the island?"

Presumably the supplies are intended for the two people they keep in the Swan station who have to enter the 4 8 15 16 23 42 code every 108 minutes.

Re: EW's Top Unsolved Mysteries of Lost
This makes sense, but are we to believe that Libby just happend to go to the same mental institution as Hurley at the same time that Hurley just happened to go into the institution? Then Libby just happened to board the same doomed flight as Hurley? And after meeting Desmond and giving him a boat, she just happens to crash onto the same uncharted island that Desmond crashed onto? Too many coincidences. I would like the producers to explain her part in all this, but I know they're not going to.

I would expect a lot of people to be disappointed after the conclusion of this show; especially the people that had problems with BSG. Even when they've answered questions they've never really explain them explicitly. While the show is all about mysteries I've always felt that to be a weakness of the show. They wouldn't have to dumb the show down to provide satisfying answers just explain things in a way that doesn't leave so much up to interpretation. Although, I still find frustrating sometimes I've come to expect vagueness and allusions from Lost that it doesn't bother me as much anymore and I've enjoyed the show more because of it. I also loved the BSG finale so hopefully I'll be pleased with the final season of Lost as well.

All the things you mentioned need no more explaining than Desmond and Jack meeting at the stadium, Jack and Ana-Lucia meeting at the airport, Ana-Lucia being in Australia because of Jack's dad, Sawyer meeting Jack's dad in the bar, Locke's dad scamming Sawyer's parents, etc.
I know that at the time that episode was made, the producers and writers had a lot more in mind for Libby.
But they either decided to take the story in different direction or were forced to when ABC demanded that the actress be fired over the DUI incident.
For one thing, we have never learned Libby's last name. And, it would seem the characters never knew it, either, since Jack didn't know it at the Oceanic Six press conference. (One would think it would have been in the passenger list they used to determine that Ethan Rom wasn't on the plane...)
I think that, in all likelihood, Libby is "Elizabeth Widmore," and her backstory involved Charles Widmore and his quest for the island. A lot of the pieces seem to fit... checking up on Hurley because of his connection the to the numbers, giving Desmond the boat that took him to the island, being on Flight 815...

Re: EW's Top Unsolved Mysteries of Lost
At comic-con they showed a video highlighting all (mostly) of the dead characters on the show and they give Libby's name as "Elizabeth 'Libby' Smith". Maybe that's just a generic way of not giving away her real last name or she's just a regular person with a regular last name.
