Re: Man V. Food: 2nd Season

The Baltimore visit was better than DC. O'Brycki's is a Bal'mer institution. I've only been there once. Never had the crab cakes - odd that they don't use any mayo or mustard in it. I also prefer broiled to fried. My favorite places for crab cakes are: 1) G&M Restaurant (near BWI airport) and 2) Faidley's (in Lexington Market).

But it's good that he ate steamed crabs - that's quintessential Maryland.

Baltimore has a lot of good pit beef joints, although I had never heard of that particular place. Looked really good though.

Never heard of the steak place but that's because it's well outside of Baltimore - near the Delaware border. I was surprised he failed the challenge - that one looked easier than the Texas steak challenge he conquered.

I liked the gal in the red top. She was just about falling out of her shirt when she gave Adam the kiss

Re: Man V. Food: 2nd Season

I was also surprised that he failed the challenge. He tore through the Big Texan one in about 1/2 an hour, and this was only 2 more ounces. Maybe different cuts of meat made it harder. I think he should have saved the filet for last, since it was the most tender cut.

Yeah, the lady in red was nice. You know Adam gets a lot of action on the road, although, he probably never feels like going out after his challenge nights.

Yes, as I was watching, I was very surprised he went for that first rather than last. I figured these cuts for the most part (such as the filet, ribeye and prime rib) would be more tender than that hunk of meat he ate in Texas.

Chap's is the best in B-more!... located right next to a strip club. Anyone else notice the Carcetti for Mayor t-shirt Adam was wearing at Chap's? You would have had to watch The Wire to know the reference.

I'm looking forward to the Detroit episode but even though I was born and raised there I've never even heard of any of these places save for the coneys.

Re: Man V. Food: 2nd Season

I don't know. Was a big fan of the show early on but some of these challenges are eye rollin'. I'm more interested in the local cuisine and restaurants than his challenges. As the show goes on, more and more of the challenges looks like something Adam has already done before.

That massive burger was disgusting. Why would anyone want to eat that (I guess to get on tv)? This was a lame episode. Wasn't impressed by that pork sandwich. The Chili dog war was mildly interesting.

The one challenge I thought was gross was in Hawaii, and those four pounds of Pancakes.

yeah, that challenge was retarded. 2 of the 4 restaurants featured in this episode were opened less than 4 years ago.

Re: Man V. Food: 2nd Season

Resurrecting this thread. I was pretty impressed that Adam beat the challenge last night. Was that the first cheeseburger challenge that he has beaten? I think it was the smallest one that he has tried, wasn't it?

The other food in the episode looked good as well, although I'm not a big fan of all that junk on a hot dog.

Re: Man V. Food: 2nd Season

compared to most of the other challenges i think that burger one was pretty easy

I'd like to see more of the different foods from the different places and less of the challenge. Challenge only needs to take up the last 5-6 minutes

I have to admit, Mac and Cheese on a burger intrigues me

Perhaps. It reminded me of Eagle's burger challenge in Boston. However, that challenge also had a tray of french fries, so much harder. Then I remember the one with the one big burger on a big bun which he had to cut into quarters. That seemed disgusting (plus a lot more bread) whereas the one in this episode looked like something you may actually want to eat. Maybe that's the difference.

That shredded beef taco looked great.

No surprise that Clinton could wolf down that whole plate of food.

It was the first one I've seen him do that I thought I could probably do that as well. Though I could also probably do the insanely spicy ones (chicken wings, etc), but I wouldn't.

Re: Man V. Food: 2nd Season

That was disgusting.

Who the hell wants to eat food made by some fat fuck in a tank top? I hate seeing people in restaurants like that and its even grosser on TV. Yea lets go get some burger where the patties are flattened in some pigs armpits! Maybe youll get some of his sweat in your sauce and some hair.

Re: Man V. Food: 2nd Season

The pizza in the Hartford challenge looked pretty good. Steamed cheeseburgers don't sound very appetizing (I think I've seen that on Triple-D before). The hot dog with pulled pork on it looked very good.

Adam announced that there will be a live Man v. Food on Wednesday Feb. 3 at 9 pm from Miami - Super Bowl week there.
