Favourite food show: non-competitive edition
I am sitting here doing some work while Man vs. Food is on in the background, and I got thinking, what is the best currently airing food show. None of the instructional type shows appeal to me, though America's Test Kitchen and Good Eats aren't bad, but perhaps I am missing out on something. Any other suggestions?
I would have included Spain...on the road again, which I enjoyed when I had a chance to see it, but since it no longer airs I could not. However that will not prevent me from including a picture of Claudia:
Thoughts or ideas?
(note: I don't consider Dinner Impossible a competition style show)

I really like Triple D, Man v. Food, Dinner Impossible, and of course Giada's show. I guess I'd go with Man v. Food, since it's a mix of Triple D and seeing if he can do the challenge the restaurant offers.

I probably watch Good Eats the most often. I also watch Triple D, Dinner Impossible and Unwrapped.
I think my favorite "cooking" show is probably Giada. I've actually recorded her shows and made a couple dishes. I've also done a few 30-Minute Meals and Paula Dean stuff (love her Cheeseburger Meatloaf). But the family loves Italian food, so we do more Giada recipes. Plus, she's got fantastic cleavage.

I like Anthony Bourdain No Reservations. It's not really a traditional food show like his previous show Cooks Tour, but more of a weekly travel documentary with Bourdain's witty commentary. Food is definitely a big part of it.

Good Eats, without question. I liked Everyday Italian, too, but don't particularly care for Giada's new show, despite the lovely, lovely cleavage. Triple D is watchable, but I get sick of seeing the forty-some surfer wannabe stuffing his face after a while. Pretty much everything else on Food Network sucks. Other than that, I like America's Test Kitchen.

I agree. I like Triple D, but Guy can wear on you after a while. Every dish is either "off the hook" or "the bomb".
Forgot about No Reservations. I try to catch every episode. It's a great show. But it's a travel show with lots of eating and drinking (not a real food show).

Good question but it's impossible for me to answer. Man v Food, Good Eats, Everyday Italian, Triple D, and Paula Dean's non studio shows.

I voted for Bizarre Foods, but MvF would be my second choice. I forgot about Unwrapped when creating the thread. Another good choice.

I absolutely love "Down Home with the Neelys"! Every dish I've made from their shows have been delicious, and I've tried the BBQ Turkey Meatloaf, Chicken Pot Pie, Baked Ziti, Spicy Fried Chicken, Broccoli Cheese Cornbread, Frozen Lemonade Pie and the Chocolate Pecan Pie.
I also love Ina's "Barefoot Contessa". I've only tried one of her recipes thus far and it was really good. Her recipes tend to have a few too many steps for my comfort or long wait times ('let chill in the refrigerator overnight') but I enjoy the show nonetheless. Something about the setting and her demeanor makes the show very relaxing for me.

Another I've just remembered that I have enjoyed is Bittman Takes on America's Chefs, though I don't know if it still on the air. I also used to really like After Hours on Mojo.
And since MvF is fairly popular, did anybody see the appearance of Joey Chestnut?

It's on PBS, not the Food Network, but I love Rick Bayless' "Mexico: One Plate at a Time." In addition to showing you how to cook various recipes, he travels around Mexico and talks about how various cultures have influenced the cuisine.

Sucks that he's never come around here.

When he was on Letterman he was asked the same question. He said if he didn't like the food, it was left out.
