Meteor nbc miniseries 7/12 & 7/19

Thought this was a bit better than Impact. Everything moves at much faster pace. They did themselves a favor and kept the science talk to a minimum.

Didn't they do this a decade ago with Michael Biehn?

I DVR'd this tonight.

I was a little disappointed with Impact even though it had a pretty decent cast. I agree the science mumbo jumbo talk really hurt it.

I'll try to catch this during the week.

Did anyone else notice a few times where the dialogue seemed to be dubbed? I couldn't get past the Murphy's Law situations with the assistant: ok the car breaks down, and the accident, and the rapists, and the lost passport, and another accident. Good grief what's next.

I thought this was downright awful.. It made Impact look like a work of art in comparison!

I want a refund on the 2 hours I wasted on this last night. If you're going to make a movie about meteors hitting stuff, actually SHOW the meteors hitting stuff! Plus, it was the most CONVOLUTED, worst acted movie I have seen in years. The effects were horrible, even for TV. And my wife and I were laughing at how the cast was made up of TV and movie second bananas! I think we're watching Armageddon again next Sunday instead. At least Michael Bay knows how to blow stuff up real good.

Just a thought: Fourth-place networks don't run new miniseries in the middle of summer if they think the show is any good.

I DVR'd it and am planning to watch it sometime soon. Looks decent from the description but you fine people seem to think its crap. Tell you what I think after I watch it. But from what you guys have said about it, I might put it off a little longer then I was planning.

I tuned in for two scenes - one with George Costanza looking all flustered (in other words, he was pretending to be busy) and another where they showed before, after but not the actual impact of meteor fragments. What the hell?

Asteroid sucked, but I'm guessing this sucked more.

Unbelievably bad. Completely unwatchable.

Of course, I will watch the second half to see if it gets any worse ... Is that even possible?

Wasn't there a story a few months ago about NBC planning to air some of SciFi's original movies?

I thought so too! Also the part where
Spoiler:

Christopher Lloyd got hit by the van.

I recommend it for laughs only, but it's better to record it so you can skip the numerous commercials. (Also, you can skip most of the dialogue as it doesn't add much).

it truly is awful, but I'm enjoying it much more than 'Impact'.

oh, and if it wasn't the summer, I wouldn't even give this a glance.

What this movie needed was more shots of meteors flying through the sky and hitting buildings because the ones that they showed every three minutes just weren't enough.

I saw the last 15 minutes of it. It must be really bad because I can't find it in IMDB.

I gots mad search skillz.

Checked the discussion board there and they mentioned how the missile (stinger?) was able to cleanly blast one meteor over LA. Pretty hilarious. I'd really like to believe our rockets can do that.

OK, just finished the seonc half... and a pretty weak second half it was. Though time flew by and there was some action. Both movies were bleh, but now I say Impact was the better movie since it actually had a disaster theme.

Next week NBC got another movie - the Storm. Could it be worse?

I have been watching some of the 2nd part right now and wow.....just amazingly awful. Some of the worst acting and circumstances I have ever seen. This is like something the Mystery Science Theater guys would tear to pieces from the 80's...except it's happening now!

I've never been swayed once by what people here thought of something.
