Pushing Daisies -- Series Finale -- "Kerplunk" -- 6/13/09

Photobucket

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

In the series finale, Ned, Chuck and Emerson go undercover to solve the murder of a member of a synchronized-swimming duo (Nora Dunn, Wendie Malick). The tragedy, however, gives Vivian and Lily an opportunity to reunite as the Darling Mermaid Darlings.

It's Over!!! I believe the next 3 Saturday's will be Eli Stone's final episodes.

That sure was a nice way to wrap it up... it was a quick wrap up... but satisfying nonetheless.

I just don't want to say goodbye to The Pie Hole.

I thought you guys in the forum loved this show to death. Where is all the love given that Saturday was the Grand Finale? Or are you all waiting for the DVD?

Thought it was a nice and satisfying way to end the show. Will definitely miss the characters. Chi McBride has already moved on to Human Target on FOX. Hopefully we will see Kristin Chenowith again.....maybe on Glee as somone mentioned?

Huh? If I remember right many folks here were a small portion of a larger part of the viewing public who couldn't hang with the show. I guess we still have 2 and half men and all about jim....

I just finished watching it on abc.com and it was pretty good. Wendy Malick, Nora Dunn, Michael "MadTV" McDonald were all cool guests; and there were some very funny lines in this ep. I also dug Olive mimicking the swimmer guy.

This series is definitely on my short list of favorite shows of all time. When i finally get a Blu Ray player the season boxes will be among the 1st I'll buy.

Re: Pushing Daisies -- Series Finale -- "Kerplunk" -- 6/13/09

It was a pretty good plot, esp. since it got the Darling Mermaid Darlings back into the water and on the road, and with a new entourage consisting of loved ones! I would have like to have actually seen Emerson and Lil Gumshoe's reunion as more than a shadow at his door. And where did that new restaurant idea Olive had come from? And finallly, Digby running through a field of daisies, echoing the series' opening shot.

And I agree, they wrapped up the entire series in like 2 minutes. Glad everyone ended up happy.

I am waiting for the DVD, and haven't watched any of the Saturday episodes. I am never home Saturday nights anyway.

I just came here to find out if they wrapped the series up. At least it sounds like they did, though I hate it when shows have to do it in a forced rush (the anime series Please Save My Earth is the worst example of this I can think of that I have seen) but does this mean you all think the idea of continuing this in a movie like Dead Like Me did is off the table now?

I stopped caring when it got canceled. The delay between "new" episodes is far too long for me to make it must see TV. I have to Blu-ray on pre-order though so...

No. However, since Chuck's condition and their relationship are no longer a secret from the aunts, I am sure that Ned and Charlotte will have no trouble getting creative...

Let's just hope Chuck doesn't end up dying in a tragic blimp accident over the Orange Bowl on New Year's Day.

The producers of Private Practice should cast her to play Addison's older sister. They look a lot alike.

As soon as I heard the show was cancelled, I stopped watching. Just like I did with the first season, I'll buy the second season on Blu-ray.

Yeah, her sister was Nora Dunn from SNL. I love Wendy.

I'm glad that they gave us a bit of a wrap-up ending for each character, even though it seemed totally tacked-on.

Also, the last few episodes aired around 6 weeks ago in the UK, so the less ethical of us saw them then.

Good episode and it was nice to see the small wrap up at the end. It's sad to know it's over, but I'll pick up the seasons on Blu sometime down the road.

Definitely a rushed add-on wrap-up ..... but better than simply coming to a dead stop.

I'd still love to see an "Olive & Cod" spin-off - they were terrific together, and it would definitely be a quirky private-eye series.

I am glad they gave us a conclusion, even if it was open ended for movie possibilities. I'll miss this show big time and will gladly buy Season 2 on DVD.

Re: Pushing Daisies -- Series Finale -- "Kerplunk" -- 6/13/09

I'm sorry I missed the show's finale, I wanted to see it but I ultimately went to bed early because I wasn't feeling well, I'm glad I saw two of the last three episodes. I got hooked onto the show almost up to the time it was cancelled (I really don't think ABC marketed the show very well.) I got hooked borrowing a friend's DVD's of season 1 and in fact just bought my own copy of the season from amazon. I guess I'll need to pcik up season 2 in July.
