the 2^nd ep sold me! i turned off the pilot, but gave it another chance and i loved the 2^nd ep. laughed out loud. excellent. already picked up for S2. Weeds then this. i am in!

Can't believe no one is talking about this show beyond the pilot. It's a terrific series and it just keeps getting better with each episode. Question....have they explained the obvious age difference between Jackie and her husband? He's clearly many years younger.

OK, so she's got a great guy at home. Young, good looking, who seems to love her very much. And yet she's fucking an older and uglier guy at work too. At first I thought it was just for the drugs. Who knows, maybe not. Doesn't make her a very likeable character out of the gate. But then, she has her moments.

Is that the British doctor? Yes, it is an odd show. I'm glad I stuck with it. Rarely have I loved the pilot of any show. Most take at least two episodes before they hit their stride (with me). This is no different. And I really like most of the cast.

I got the free pilot from Amazon. All the expletives were deleted. Interesting show. I was really surprised she had a husband because I thought for sure she was single. I'm all for a nurse to get 'it' in the hospital but for her to forge a dead man's signature on a driver's license to donate his organs to science is reprehensive.

Apparently it does to some people or they likely wouldn't be commenting on it, eh? Personally, I don't have a huge problem with her character, other than the fact that I am starting to get a bit tired of the "deeply flawed character with at least one redeeming quality that invariably makes you pull for them" schtick with tv shows. Like anything else that starts out as refreshing or a good idea, it is quickly being run into the ground.

She doesn't come off as a needy drug addict, which I think they ought to explore more. She's highly competent at her job, she speaks clearly, she's never jonesing for "more," even when she loses or misses a dose (when the hospital administrator takes Jackie's powered drug for coffee sweetner, which Jackie hid in an empty packet, Jackie didn't feel the need to use another packet until later in the day). And she's awful hypocritical - like when she finds out a temporary aide is 'using,' she threatens him and tells him to either leave right now, or go upstairs and pee in a cup.

Guess it won't be too long before the new girl shines a penlight in Jackie's eye to see if it reacts to the light. I like the show - which it was an hour long.

EDIT: I found it a little far-fetched that her doctor friend enables Jackie and her drug use by blocking the apparently lock-less bathroom stall to prevent anyone from catching Jackie snorting.
