John Lithgow Snags Role to Kill For

Oscar-nominated actor John Lithgow is headed back to the small screen for a season-long role on Showtime's "Dexter."

Emmy, Tony and Golden Globe winner Lithgow will portray the "Trinity Killer" in all 12 episodes of the fourth season of the cable hit. Dexter (Michael C. Hall) will become intrigued by the mass murderer, who moves to Miami with FBI Agent Lundy (Keith Carradine) hot on his trail.

Season four of "Dexter" premieres on September 27 on Showtime.

Oh christ, please no more Deb and Lundy bullshit. If I have to see them soak their feet at the dock again while they ~bond~, I may kill someone myself.

for Lithgow, though.

Lithgow will be a fantastic addition to the show. And I liked Lundy so thumbs up all around!

Why do I think Lithgow would be a great serial killer? Maybe I'm thinking of his psycho villain role in Cliffhanger.

Sounds like a role perfectly suited for Lithgow. Looking forward to it.

It's ironic that Dexter is one of my favorite shows, but I don't really want to subscribe to Showtime just for that one show... yet I may find myself doing this, after I rent S3 from Netflix and hopefully get it all watched before the new season starts.

Still need to finish the last few episodes of season 3. Then I gotta re-subscribe to Showtime for this and Californication for 3 months when these premiere.

Great casting choice. Can't believe they are bringing back Carradine. Thought Lundy moved to the West Coast at the end of season 2?

Re: John Lithgow Snags Role to Kill For

Sounds good I really like this show a lot. I'm not really looking forward to Lundy being back on the show however but I suppose it'll be fine. Too bad there's not really much else on Showtime that I like to watch to make a subscription more worth it. I guess I'll just pay for the few months Dexter is on and cancel after it wraps up. The only other show they have I sorta like is Weeds but I'm not the hugest fan of it or anything.

I don't think he really has any place permanent where he lives. I think he just basically has to go from place to place to work on whatever cases he's assigned to.

I loved S1 and S2 but absolutely hated S3. I wasn't even sure I was going to catch the new season but Lithgow means I have to at least give it a try and see if they are going to get back on track.

This thread would have been wittier with the title "John Lithgow snags killer role". I honestly didn't get the convoluted title until the third post.

Season 3 wasn't that bad in my opinion.
Spoiler:
The worst part about it I thought was the fact that The Skinner was sort of a lame serial killer and I wasn't really that interested in him. I really enjoyed the Miguel character while he lasted though.
This season it should be interesting to see how Dexter manages to keep on killing while being married now and having a baby on the way.

Only because of a series of similar kills in Oregon. Maybe that was Lithgow.

Lithgow played a good psychopath in "Blow Out."

Oh come on now. You know you loved all those middle-aged male ass shots. Maybe we'll get some of that fine Lithgow backside while we're at it.

Yeesh!
