So are we going to find out who Red John is this season, or will this be like the one armed man? And I still would guess that Red John is the CBU boss Minelli (not spoilered because it is just my speculation).

Wow, two former 24 presidents in this episode! In fact, Keeler and Logan were on the same ticket.
A pretty good finale, loved the way Jane blew away the bad guy at the end with the shotgun, the look on his face after he shot the gun, and his dropping of it were awesome.
The Red John story continues, But Jane at least got his first taste of justice, albeit a minor one.

I caught Saturday nite's Red John-centered repeats and also thought Minelli may have some connection to RJ.
Jane showed Lisbon he wasn't selfish with that shotgun -- great season finale!

I can do without the Red John episodes. The thing I like best is how charming Jane is and he loses that in the Red John episodes.

1) I thought the bad guy's death scene was a little odd. At first appearing as if he were going to say something, he then just laughs as if he knew he were going to his grave with a bigger secret than Red John's identity.
2) Isn't this the second episode where a cop turns out to be a nut job killer? Are the writers hinting at something? Which leads me to guess your speculation might be true, as it appears the writers might be saying something about untrustworthy figures of authority.

The first time I watched this show was last Saturday when they showed the pilot and another episode. I liked it. I'll catch up with the season DVD once they are out.
Also, I almost did not recognize Amanda Righetti with her hair like that.

I'm really liking this show. I started watching right after the Pilot aired, and then saw it Tuesday nights right before The Shield. After The Shield ended, I stopped...and caught back up a few weeks ago.
I like the Red John episodes, but like mentioned above, do it better than Monk. This episode in particular was great...learned that Jane was willing to die just so Red John would be caught (or so he says), we still get some humor from Cho and Rigsby.

I really like this show. I think that the Red John episodes provide a good counterpoint to the Jane character. Normally he is in control of the situation, and remains cool and collected through everything. But when it comes to Red John, it is very clear that Red John is in control, and that Jane cannot remain cool and collected.

Glad to see there are actually some people here who do like the show. I think initially it gotten sort of brushed off in this forum as "just another boring procedural", but I think that's far from the case.

the show started to get a little weak mid-season (the worst one being the hollywood murder case), but it finished string with the last 3. the cases really aren't that great, but Baker is simply amazing in this show. I'll still be watching next season and continue to watch even if the cases suck, just cause of him.
