Smallville -- "Injustice" -- 5/7/09

Smallville

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Unable to control Davis, Chloe asks Clark to kill him. Seizing the opportunity, Tess gathers Plastique (Jessica Parker Kennedy) and a crew of meteor freaks to track down Davis, all the while planning a double cross. Things go awry, however, when Tess' true plans are discovered.

Hopefully we are close to winding down this whole Chloe/Davis nonsense. Hopefully Erica Durance makes an appearance too.

Chole has turned into such a tool.

Well, I'm pretty sure anybody can guess how this one will end. What I'm curious about is how the season will end - what cliffhanger - because you know one is coming.

So after all that drama from last week and stopping Clark from sending Bloomsday to the Zone, she's gonna go and ask Clark to kill him anyway? Way to go blondie.

This season is so uneven, more so then usual. Tess was built up to be a main character but she disappears for long stretches at a time. Lois has been almost non-existent this season. Oliver disappears as well. The whole Davis/Doomsday thing is moving at a glacial pace.

Re: Smallville -- "Injustice" -- 5/7/09

You can pretty much make a drinking game with how many times Clark says he's gonna deal with Davis and then doesn't do a damn thing.

I bet Chloe turns to Clark at the very end of the episode. I, sadly, doubt we'll see much of Lois (if she even turns up at all). And where the hell are Aquaman, Cyborg, Impulse, Martian Manhunter, and Black Cannary?

I bet the cliffhanger this season will be something lame like Clark finding out Oliver killed Lex. Then in next season's opener they'll find out Lex is alive and promtly forget about him during all of next season.

Re: Smallville -- "Injustice" -- 5/7/09

Did Oliver kill Lex? I recall some big argument and then the truck blowing up. Was it related to a satellite in orbit? I somehow got the impression that something/body was stopped short and the truck blowing up was Lex screwing up.

I suppose it's asking too much to think that this season would end with both Clark and Doomsday dead. It would be great for Clark to see how much chances in the world with the RBB gone. However, he'd probably come back in the first 30 minutes of the first episode next year regardless.

I think it's an injustice that Erica Durance doesn't commit to a full 22 episode season instead of these sporatic 12-13 episode stints and she's still credited as a series regular.

Don't all of the main cast members do the same thing except for Tom Welling and Allison Mack?

Yeah but Erica Durance is the only one I really want to see each episode.

I think this is because the longer a show goes on, they have to cut costs and not all cast members can be in all episodes. I don't really care for this and characters being there one week and then gone for 2 or 3.
And where has Justice League been all year? I thought they were going to a major part of the season.

I don't think it's her decision.

So Tess is the saviour of Kandor? Does this mean Kara will return?

She's cute, but man-- she can't act at all!

No worse than Tom Welling perplexingly channeling the offspring of David Carusso in CSI Miami and Keanu Reeves in Speed this episode.

The acting in the scene where Oliver and him are yelling at each other was painfully awful.

I only kind of paid attention to this episode.....which DC villian was the one chick supposed to be? There was Live Wire, Parasite (I assume)....who was the 3rd one?

Ok, I want an Oliver and Tess spin off now. Clark is a giant pussy and I'm frankly tired of watching him waffle. Is he this bad in the comics?

Yes, but I'm used to Welling's horrific acting-- we've dealt with it for ~175 episodes.

Pretty solid episode.

Kandor out of left field for sure.

I'm sure something will come in and help Clark at the 11th hour, but frankly I hope we see the same thing that was at the end of Superman 75.

Re: Smallville -- "Injustice" -- 5/7/09

I have always loved Smallville, but how many episodes have they done the "Clark loses his powers" bit. That is getting old for me.

Re: Smallville -- "Injustice" -- 5/7/09

A lost Kryptonian city in a bottle. I believe the origins on WHO put it there vary, but it seems like it's always been one of Supergirls main missions to find it. Superman may have it in the Fortress in one line of comics, but has never been able to figure out how to make it back into full size.

Re: Smallville -- "Injustice" -- 5/7/09

Brainiac has always been the one behind Kandor's shrinking. Supergirl (I believe) was looking for Argo City, another Kryptonian city lost after Krypton's explosion.

Superman kept the shrunken city of Kandor in the Fortress of Solitude and spent years trying to find a way to unshrink it safely. Recently in the comics, Kandor was finally released. Using the crystal technology that created the Fortress, a new planet was grown (New Krypton) and now orbits on the other side of Earth's sun.
