I saw no mention of The Unit in the CBS article. I assume this means it's cancelled???
And, if it has been cancelled can someone tell me if I should even bother watching the last 4 episodes...

Watch them because they tie up the Whiplash story line.

The only show I'm curious to hear about is Eleventh Hour, because while it was considered a success the EW "fall cheat sheet" lists it as a long shot with cast/crew looking for other work.

The season finale ends with no cliffhangers. You should be able to watch and enjoy them just fine.

That's all well and good, but without spoiling it for me, did it wrap up any story lines? Specifically the story line that started the season and had been the running theme the entire season.

According to this he's sticking with both if The Unit is renewed:
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/05/...fox-renew.html
A Fox rep wouldn't comment, but reliable sources confirm that the network has renewed the freshman drama for a 13-episode second season. And here's where things get really interesting: Shawn Ryan, the genius producer-writer behind The Shield and The Unit, is taking over as showrunner. Don't interpret that to mean The Unit is dead though. I'm told if the CBS procedural returns -- and it very well may -- Ryan will juggle both shows.

If there is another season, they would have to create a new story arc.
And yes you should definitely watch those last few episodes. They were very exciting and action-packed.

Yes, everything is resolved and the season ends on a happy note for one of the major characters.
If there is another season, they would have to create a new story arc.

IIRC, the same thing happened last year, in it being a last minute decision to pick it up.

NEW YORK – ABC plans to launch a comedy night on Wednesdays this fall with familiar sitcom stars in roles suited to the times.
Former "Frasier" star Kelsey Grammer is the lead character of "Hank," playing a corporate titan who's been laid off. In "The Middle," former "Everybody Loves Raymond" actress Patricia Heaton is the wife and mother in a family from Indiana trying to keep their heads above water in tough times.
Courteney Cox of "Friends" is the lead of "Cougar Town," playing a newly single woman learning about dating in a youth-obsessed culture.
ABC will have 11 new series next season. One familiar show left off the schedule is Christina Applegate's "Samantha Who?"

ABC's schedule:
http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.a...=20090519abc01
I'm scared. There's a lot of stuff on that schedule that sounds appealing to me. ABC always kills me with their cancellations though.
2 of the dramas that appeal to me (V, The Deep End) are apparently midseason replacecments, which probably means they have no chance. I'm sure Flash Forward will get the Lost geeky types.
An Ed O'Neill and Sofia Vergara comedy? I'm there - particularly if Levitan and Lloyd are behind it. I'll also check out the new Kelsey Grammar comedy.
Looks like Ugly Betty is being put out to pasture. That's a slot where one of the midseason replacements will probably go.

Cool that Better Off Ted is sticking around.
9 PM on Friday may actually be alright for Betty, but it needs to be teamed up with another light/fluffy show, not Supernanny and 20/20.

The Unit has now been canceled per EW.com
Lousy karma alert: NBC has pulled the plug on My Name is Earl. The show's sidekick, Ethan Suplee, just confirmed the news via Twitter.
"Just got the call that My Name Is Earl has been canceled," he wrote. "They sure did take their time with that decision -- or rather informing us of it."
An Earl insider says execs at 20th Century (the show's producer), are in discussions with Fox and ABC about picking up the four-year-old comedy.
Similarly, NBC has passed on ordering another season of Medium. There's no word if the show will shift to CBS, as has been rumored.
Meanwhile, sources confirm that CBS is disbanding The Unit after four seasons.
My Fall TV Cheat Sheet has been updated to reflect both changes.

I was surprised they didn't hold Flash Forward and give that the post-Lost spot, although maybe they have a lot of confidence that it will be extended to the full 22-ep season.

I'm a little disappointed with The Unit getting the axe, but it wasn't unexpected. Especially with the networks new philosophy of not wanting to pay high licensing fees to shows produced by other studios.
I think the final episode ended with enough closure where I can move on and not look back.
